Anybody ever beat a speeding ticket in court?

But also, I think there needs to be another option for traffic violations. Give you the option of paying the fine, fighting it in court or you get to fight the cop that issued the citation and if you win, it gets thrown out.

If that were the case, I’d take out the fuses for brake lights, put the loudest exhaust I can find on my truck, burnout at every intersection and not drive under 100 MPH anywhere

All that was a bit anticlimactic. I got there at 8:30 but was still 23rd in line. Finally get my number called and the lady said she would bump the fine down to 100 bucks with nothing on my license if I’d forgo the trial.

I took that deal. I think I could have beat it all together, but figured 100 bucks was worth getting out of there in a little over an hour and not having any points on my license vs probably being there all day with no guarantee anything gets reduced even though Roscoe P Coaltrain broke State radar device calibration laws

Still hope the cop raids a meth lab right as it explodes
I'd have done the same, but I'd been tempted to barter. "I'll give you $50 and not a dime more" and see what her reaction was.

I was tempted to turn it down and go to trial, but I was there over an hour before I got to talk to her. Who knows how much longer before I get to see a judge if they even get to me at all today

100%. They have nothing else to do, they all have to be there all day but you don't. They have no issue making you sit there for 8 hours just to be told "tough, what are you gonna do about it". $100 is a fair amount to buy your day back.

I don't remember, but it seems to me that court cost alone for Jefferson county in NY is about $100.00. And they make you pay a fine too.

I would have paid her the $100 in cash hoping she just kept the money and excused the ticket.

I paid in cash. Had a couple 50’s I needed to get rid of anyways. 50 dollar bills are bad luck for gamblers
