....I mean, they openly either cheated or found a serious loophole that I can't imagine how no one else has figured out how to do this for the entire existence of the game of baseball. Does the MLB ban these new bats or do they allow them this year and every other team starts to follow or start figuring out how to modify their bats to be even better?

I mean Sosa got ramrodded for possibly corking his bat. This is worse.

I don’t get how the dildo bats are legal but I’m here for the dingers.

We'll see how it goes, but 3 of those 9 homeruns were hit by Judge, who is not using the new bat.

They say the mlb gave it the ok. So I see no problem with the new bats

granted, they're already teeing off again today.

The bats are within the specifications for MLB bats. They don't exceed the allowable circumference, length or weight. The only difference is that some of the weight has been shifted to the "sweet spot" on the bat.

It's not even necessarily new. Frank Robinson had a similar bat during his career as have a few others.

As far as I know, this is the first time there have been that many on one team. Apparently, the Yankees asked their players about what kinds of equipment changes they'd like and putting more weight in the sweet spot was the biggest request, so they got some brainiac to design one.

Not all of the Yankees are using them. If I recall what I heard correctly, Judge is one that isn't using a torpedo bat.

It’s only Volpe and Jazz according to a podcast I listen to.

A) The bats are legal per MLB
B) Only two guys used them (Volpe and Chisolm)
C) Players on other teams also used them (Jeffers 'Twins' and Caminero 'Rays' to name two)
D) The Brewers shitty pitching had more to do with the HRs than anything

How do you figure that? The torpedo bats meet the MLB requirements.

I don't have any problem with them and honestly, if there actually is a benefit to the new shape, I wonder where the hell the bat industry has been over the last fifty years.

That's what I'm wondering about...the only thing the "torpedo bat" does is shift more of the weight to the bats "sweet spot".

Amazing that no one at Louisville Slugger, Easton, etc. thought "What if we shift some of the weight to the part of the bat that players are trying to contact the ball with?"
