AP Poll is interesting ...

Sounds like y'all know what you need to do this weekend...for the good of the conference and nation...
We don't need the extra juice, we hate UTjr with a passion for what they did to us in the 90s.

I think the only way the B1G doesn't get 4 in is if tOSU just destroys IU. If you beat them 45-7 or something like that, they are out and a 5th SEC 2 loss team will get in.
We'll see where they put them in this week's rankings, but I would strongly doubt that. Not sure how you can justify putting in 2-loss Missouri in over them when they have two blowout losses and no good wins. Same with Texas if they lose at A&M (or even worse, Arkansas), they'd have just as many ranked wins with more losses.

If IU gets in with a 100+ SOS, getting blown out in the only good game they played all year, the only thing I hope is that we get in and get them in Athens. C'mon ... you have to play someone. Texas with a win over ATM would be better. Not going to defend Mizzou. But you likely have Bama, UTjr, UGA, UT, ATM, and OM all with 2 losses or less. All of those teams will have better wins than IU, with way better SOS.

Having such didn't seem to bother the committee at all considering where they put them in the initial ratings.

Now that would be as funny as hell. Don't see Arkie beating them.

It would be even funnier if LSU won the CCG rematch with Bama and put them back in the CFP.
Not funny at all because that would mean one more 2 loss team doesn't get in.

They were ranked 8th, with 5 one loss teams in front of them. I'm thinking the committee is very wary of IU.

Why'd they even start them at #8 to begin with? Only because of a zero in the loss column? They had the list of who they played to get to zero losses but it didn't seem to matter. They'll go up with Georgia's loss, no?

Well I had said if Texas loses to A&M I don't see them getting in over 11-1 Indiana. They play the schedule they can, best they can do is look dominant which they largely have. If they lose to Arky and beat A&M, who the hell knows.

As much as I like you, if this is the Texas arrogance we were warned about, I am going to laugh when it doesn't work out like you think it will.

FWIW, you won't lose to Arky ... your concern is @ATM. You lose to little brother you definitely aren't in as a two loss team as you wouldn't have a single significant win to point to, and with 5 or 6 two loss teams, and only 4 getting in, you would not be one of the 4, IMO.

seriously who cares man.. I get it if your team/school doesn't make it.. but who cares if you do make it and another school in your conference "gets screwed"??

Boy, you better start totin' water for your SEC Brethren, or you ain't never gonna be one of us!

Yup, you have to put a zero loss team somewhere. But to have them with five 1-loss teams in front of them says they don't think they've been tested, plus they aren't a known brand. Sure, they will move up with UGA and Miami's loss, but they will still have several 1 loss teams in front of them. If they get run out against tOSU, I don't think they get in against a 5th SEC team. If they do, then the committee won't have done their job, IMO.

Because that other 2 loss team might be mine.

I'm also a conference guy. I want the SEC to do well. That's obvious from my posting history. I've long said that the better your conference is the better breaks you get when there are close calls. I can't see how that is arguable.

You could be right about Texas, but IU has other 2 loss teams they have to get past. Unless we are saying that a 1 loss team is automatically better than a 2 loss team.

That would be funny.
Funnier
Funniest

But LSU ain't making it to the CCG. They have a Murder's Row of a remaining schedule.
First up is Florida. The HC has just been given a big "Vote of Confidence" by the AD, so you know the players are going to be super fired up to play and it's a home game for them.

Next up is Vanderbilt. The team that beat Alabama. And Alabama just finished beating the cat shit outta LSU. Now LSU has to play the the team that beat Alabama.

Next is Oklahoma. A ray of hope for LSU. The week before, OU has to play Alabama, and it's a home game for LSU.

So, maybe finish 1-2. That would prolly make LSU the 8th or 9th seed and the corresponding bowl that goes with that seed.
It will be such an exciting bowl, that maybe only 50% of the team will opt out.

Maybe you do, but if you lose to Arky it's not likely. If you lose to ATM, maybe.

Tell me this ... you lose to UGA, ATM, and you have no signature wins. You aren't in the SECCG. The two SECCG participants are in. You losing to ATM means they are in. We beat UTjr, Bama is in.

The two other spots are for UGA, UTjr, OM, and UT. Which of the 2 on that list get left out so you get in? All of them have signature wins. UGA gets in before you because of H2H. OM beat UGA, UTjr beat Bama. Why exactly would Texas get in other than, "we are Texas?"

Or, do you think the SEC gets 5, in which case which B1G teams of UO, tOSU, PSU, a IU don't get in?

2 loss Texas would absolutely get in over 1 loss Indiana even though Texas has 1 more loss and also zero quality wins.

Anyone who thinks the name of the jersey isn't gonna take some control in a situation like this is delusional. What matchup is gonna draw more eyes? Say Texas is the 11 seed. Penn State vs Texas or Penn State vs Indiana? Not even a debate.
