AP Poll is interesting ...

It's one of the reasons the 12 is great ... we will see how good teams like OM, even UGA this year, and UI, PSU are. No more guessing. Decide it on the field.

Interesting must-win game for UGA this weekend. If they get kicked out of the playoff with 3 losses, we'll have to wait awhile longer for the SEC to get its conference schedule up to 9 games.

They need to go to 9 conference games.
GTFOH ... our schedules are already far harder than the B1G and you want us to make them harder. I don't think so.

And, I have advocated for 9 because it makes better games. But when I see IU's schedule, I say fuck that.

Meanwhile you've got Texas and Missouri with terrible schedules.

Texas - #47
Missouri - #67

First, we are clearly out with a 3rd loss. And we should be. Even with our harder schedule, you can't lose 3 in most years. UGVA is very good this year, but we aren't elite as we have been the last 3.

That said, explain why we should go to 9 games? I know you are smiling as you type because you want our schedules to be even harder. But why should we when we already have way better scheduling and games?

And, remember, I am an advocate of the 9 game schedule. But, as I have posted many times, the SEC wasn't going to 9 games until they saw how the Committee dealt with SOS. If they don't look at SOS, the SEC won't go to 9 games.

Just having played the Boise State game alone makes them close, again at this point, because IU hasn't played OSU yet. Once that game gets played there will be a pretty sizable gap between the two. Plus Wazzu's schedule down the stretch is absolutely shit. The scheduling metrics, at this point are very similar. Once the full 12 games are played the gap will be sizable (I'd say probably about a 30-35 point difference).
Yeah that sounds about right. I don't think, even at 11-1, Wazzou will be on anyone's radar from the CFP, nor should they be.

I think I speak for most OSU fans when I say I'm fairly apprehensive about what to think of them in a couple weeks. They're going to come in motivated as all hell. I just hope they're a bit rusty off the bye.

Agreed. That's on the SEC scheduling dimwits.

But you fail to point out that the SEC has 8 of the top 11 SOS. The B1G has 1.

And you just admitted that you have a terrible schedule, LOL - Oregon - #49.

Nonsense, you got this. Focus on getting ready for Oregon!

Oregon is #46

Oregon is also the only team with 2 wins over playoff teams.

Also, and I doubt this will be discussed, IU did pay Louisville a million bucks to get out of the home and home that was scheduled for this season. Game would have been played at Louisville this year. They replaced that game with 3-7 FCS Western Illinois.

Would like to see the B1G go back to requiring a game vs a P4 (or Washington St, Oregon St, Notre Dame) school like they used to.

So, by your own words, still a terrible schedule. You can't spin it ... you said it yourself.

Also Michael Jordan:
Oregon #46.

FWIW, I am using ESPN's SOS.

All this bluster about Indiana, and yet Texas is poised to do the exact same thing with a loss to A&M.
Texas wouldn’t deserve to host a first round game either imo.

But some four have to host one. Knowing how money rules the day, if there is no separating data of 2-3 schools they’ll probably go with the largest stadium. Money grubbers.

Sagarin is better.

I'm fine with saying Oregon's schedule is light. Obviously the committee doesn't care.

Agreed. Wazzu is a nice story, and honestly, given what's happened I'm rooting for them. But from a quality standpoint they haven't been as good as IU, even if the schedules have been similar, at this point. Even with the schedule IU has played like a top 10 team.

They don't "fix" the bracket. They just make the rankings. Decide #1. Decide #2. Decide #3. Decide #4. etc.

FWIW, I don't care either. You've been tested a little and won. #46 is way better than #100. Anything under #50 works. #100 is rediculous.

Indiana is #76. ESPN has a vested interest in pumping up the SEC.
