AP POLL, OCT 1

Raise your hand if you EVER thought we'd see Oregon State and Washington State in the top 15.

And they aren't worthy of being in a conference like some much worse teams are?
That loss to Washington State by Wisconsin is not looking all that bad now.

How the hell is LSU still ranked?

Can totally see the ESPN conspiracy against us working hard to keep Wisconsin out of the top 25.

Because we all saw how truly awful Florida actually is and they whooped you. I'd be thankful to be ranked at all.
I don’t argue that it’s a bad loss and prob wouldn’t about even being ranked but why rank us at all then?

SEC is my guess.

Fresno State being ranked #24. Yes, I have them ranked in mine. But I am not some AP voter, and I should have checked it better. Fresno State's opponents have a combined 4 wins and 16 losses.

I'm too lazy to look it up but Fresno State may not be the only one like that.

I said earlier, Utah got waaayyyyyy too much juice for the Florida win and Colorado got waaayyyyyy to much juice for the TCU win. Those aren't aging very well as Florida and TCU tailspin...as well as Utah and Colorado. They may age even worse as the season goes along. Utah it too highly ranked as well IMO.
I don't like all that "transitive" stuff but I do hope A&M keeps winning and we see that Miami was just that good.

This week it's Bama that should see what a good defense can do.

Transitive ain't good but neither is putting stock in wins/losses by ranked/unranked teams early in the season. Those teams are often ranked where they are based only on history/reputation/recruiting rankings, etc. They aren't based at all on current year performance on the field. Some pan out to be true but many don't...both ways.

I'd like a team's won/loss record to show their opponent's ranking at the end of the year, not at the time they played them.

One reason I like the CFP system of waiting until late Oct/early Nov to start. Probably be even better if they waited another week or two IMO.
