I suspect by this time next week Alabama will be the new #1 in both polls.

They've looked good, but they haven't played anybody with a pulse. SP+ does have them at #30 overall. Their schedule looks pretty favorable, the only game I'd fully expect them to lose is @OSU. They do have Washington and Michigan, but they're home games and both of those teams have question marks. Even Nebraska and Maryland are at home, as is Purdue. MSU and Northwestern are road games, but they look very winnable to me (both rank outside the top 70 in SP+). #9WINDIANA doesn't seem implausible. Rourke was a nice grab in the portal.
