Also more SEC SEC SEC! shenanigans

Vandy is #26, at 5-3 with on of those losses being to a 2-5 Sun Belt team. Meaning they will be right back in the top 25 if they beat 3-5 Auburn on Saturday

I'd say you have a point, but who in the "also receiving votes" do you think should have more than Mizzou's 44 points? It isn't like they have a firm grasp on that 25 spot. But Vandy is about the only one that I could see taking the 25th spot away. Guess you could put Navy back up there, but not like they have any good wins either. Tulane? They lost to Navy so odd to slide them up if not Navy. So it comes down to Mizzou or Vandy, and Mizzou won the H2H.

What 2 loss team would you put in over them? Duke or Syracuse? Or would you want a 3 loss P4 team to be in that last spot?

I know it's relatively pointless to argue #25 but these type of situations seem to convinently always favor the SEC

Another top 25 win for some SEC school!

I know that is a funny thing to talk about, but seriously what team should be in that 25th spot if not Mizzou or Vandy?

Probably Navy, I guess i'd slide Memphis up there too if you gotta have 2, their only loss is to Navy
I wouldn't knock a 1 loss Navy in that spot. Mizzou is 22 in SOR but Navy is only 28 and Memphis is 30. If you go by SOS then Mizzou is 16, while Navy is 83 and Memphis is 118.

So one loss is definitely better than 2 losses, but at this point you are splitting hairs. That 44 points and 41 by vandy isn't very convincing or safe.

I think at some point number of losses have to matter

I agree, but when you have that much disparity in schedule it has to also count for something. All we ever talk about are wanting better OOC games, but if you are just going to look at the number in the loss column then you will keep seeing conference play and 3-4 powderpuffs and it's going to get worse. I prefer to ignore losses and look at the overall body of wins.

Mizzou: Murray St, Buffalo, BC, Vandy, UMass, Auburn
Vandy: VT, Alcorn St, Alabama, Kentucky, Ball St
Navy: Bucknell, Temple, Memphis, UAB, Air Force, Charlotte

But at the end of the day it is the 25th spot. 20-25 can and do change drastically every week.

Its the SEC's wet dream to ignore losses, then all the non champ playoff spots could go to the SEC!

Ok factor in losses and tell me what it means when the first team that Navy plays with a pulse they get beat down.

Ignoring who someone plays and beats is how you end up with Colorado at #22 with their best win being FCS North Dakota St.

I mean Mizzou has already gotten absolutely destroyed by the 2 good teams they've played.

1 of Vandys losses is to a 2-5 Sun Belt team.

ok, well we have discussed #25 enough.

Let's focus on what I can only assume is SEC bias for #24. 6-point win at home over 2-6 Kansas, 1-point overtime win at home over 1-6 Purdue, 29-point loss to Oregon, 14-point loss to Penn State, zero wins over currently ranked teams. I've been told that rankings as of time of game are to be ignored, so wondering why no hate for that #24 team that has almost 3x the points as Mizzou.

Why are they ranked?

Yall getting really worked up about this pole. I stopped reading after #1

Missouri receiving votes, let alone ranked is laughable
Mizzou without a doubt is a Top 25 team with Brady Cook at QB.....not a Top 25 team if he is out. Kirby Moore has been really disappointing as OC this year though.

It's that SEC boost.

Their 2 loses are by a combined 65 points and they don't have a win that's anywhere close to making up for that.
Mizzou was absolutely screwed in the 1st half vs A&M, especially the first quarter. They took away a PI on A&M that was clear PI that even the announcers and their ref expert said was bad. That took away likely points for Mizzou. They took away Burden's 75 yard TD on a BS call. Plenty of other horrible calls in 1st half, all benefiting A&M....Mizzou then sucked the rest of the game. I agree with that. But those calls drastically changed that game. Sure A&M could have won anyway....I doubt it was a blow out, especially has big as it ended up.

Mizzou was crushed by injuries in the Bama game. They came out and defense played well....but when Cook went out late in the first half (Mizzou only down 6 heading into halftime) the 3rd string QB (Mizzou's #2 QB is out for the season) threw 3 INT's including one right before the half that game Bama a short field (and a 13 point halftime lead)

Yes the defense wore down in the 2nd half 3 and outs and turnovers kind of do that to you. Mizzou was also missing their starting RB, a starting WR....one WR that kind of returned from injury and played a little. Several on defense were either out or played less than normal dealing with injuries. It was a bad spot for Mizzou to banged up. Normally I would say Mizzou would have been ok, but you can't have your 3rd string QB playing at Bama after they just lost their 2nd game the week before. Especially one as bad as Drew Pyne....I can't believe he was 8-2 at Notre Dame.

Bad calls went your way to, but Imma let you finish

The officiating in the A&M game in the first half was criminal. Mizzou was cheated. That def PI was BS and the 75 yard TD they took away....also BS.
