Well said. I thought his presser was great...but I'm fluent in Alabama country. Make no mistake, Cadillac is country, not dumb. Glad Alabama gets them at home.I know it sounds crazy, but all coaches start somewhere. I think Harsin was / is just fine with X's and O's, and I would be fine with him being hired at ISU if Campbell left. However, I think Cadillac's passion for Auburn is also very, very important. I have no idea whether he would be a good hire long-term or not, but I definitely think that he is tapping into something that is important @ Auburn (and should be important at all schools). Iowa State experienced that in Basketball with Fred Hoiberg before he left to coach the Bulls. I say that as someone who was in school when he played.
When he was hired, I snickered because he had no coaching experience - even though I was a super fan of him from his playing days. He did just fine! He won Big Xii Tourmanents and took ISU to the Sweet 16 after a decade wandering in the Big Xii basketball desert. He did GREAT! I ran into him at a UT-Arlington game last year (he was there to watch his son play), and it was just a super cool thing. Cadillac was REAL tonight, and I LOVED it. I'm no Auburn fan, and I pull for them about once a decade. Tonight was one of those nights. I'm glad Cadillac got a win, and those kids ended their losing streak. Stating this as an ISU fan not a part-time !@#$ fan.
Not so fast, my friend!5 game losing streak, fired coach, QB who has no idea what he is doing and sold the stadium out and made it electric.
No other fan base in the country would do that.
