The "good teams can overcome bad calls" crowd is tiring, that's basically saying it's ok that the Chiefs basically have a built in advantage from the refs to start the game because "well Buffalo or whoever could still overcome it!"
I still have the sentiment to an extent. Earn them 15 yards and knock Mahomes out of the game. The incentive to play dirty against the Chiefs has never been higher, and I would fault no opposing defender if they decided enough was enough and started taking cheap shots

As for the game, yeah I'll watch it. It's tradition. I've only missed about 5 or 6 in my lifetime since I took an interest in football.

The Bills shoulda had that bum DB Elam who had to come in because of injury head hunting Mahomes

The NFL can't totally rig the games in the traditional sense, players aren't taking dives because of the NFL tells them to, so it's not directly like the WWE.

HOWEVER the Chiefs are good enough that all it takes is 1 or 2 blatantly bad calls in their favor each game to completely shift the tide of the game.

I fully expect a couple of phantom hold calls on big Saquon runs to keep the Eagles at bay, they are all in on the threepeat and will make it very very hard for Philly to ruin it.
I'll call it now. Every significant Saquon run will have a holding call.

But it’s not just that. Last night, the Bills had a lead and were driving. They get the fourth down play that Allen clearly converts. The ref with the best view spots it for a first down and the ref with a worse view overrules him. They go to replay and despite the fact that every view clearly shows him making the line to gain, they uphold the second ref’s spot. Totally changes the momentum of the game.

I feel a little bad for Josh Allen. He’s a top 4 QB in the NFL at worst, and his playoff numbers are really good, but never even been to the SB

That was the difference in the game. A terrible call. And the catch inside the 5 wasn’t a catch either. Two of the most critical plays in the game

Wonder if we will get a explanation from the NFL of why the ref who couldn't see shit was allowed to over rule the only ref who coulda possibly had a view of the ball. Guessing no. The final spot was completely awful, it was basically like they didn't even move the ball and it was a no gain.

And the Chiefs are arguably the best team without ref assistance. It’s not like you’re playing the Giants and a couple bad calls probably won’t cost too teams the game, a couple bad calls is gonna be tough to overcome against a team like the Chiefs

It’s hard enough to beat em on an even playing field.

is it worse to be Josh Allen or to had been Jim Kelly?

KC still coulda ended up winning the game, i'll acknowledge that, but the rigged 4th down call completely shifted the momentum of the game which Buffalo was taking over at that point.

Bottom line is I don't think the NFL cares that people think they are rigging it as much as they can for the Chiefs.....because people keep watching. The only way to stop this shit is to stop watching, but enough people won't do that to make a difference.

They absolutely could have, and had it played out fairly and they won, it would have been an all time classic game, but now it has a dirty cloud hanging over it

At least Kelly had his shots in the Super Bowl. Warren Moon was in the same era and never made the SB. I’d rather have Kelly’s career than Moon’s

Allen is still fairly young. Maybe he’ll get a shot one of these years

I've not watched only one Super Bowl since I started watching football when I was a little kid back in the early 1980's - the second time the Patriots and Giants met. I had plenty of opportunity to watch that game if I wanted to. I didn't want to. That game wasn't out of protest; I just simply did not care. I played Skyrim instead.

This SB will be "not watched #2" for me.

I missed a couple in college and a couple more when I was a newlywed/new dad. The only one I was bummed about missing was the Panthers vs Patriots in 2004, I was on a plane to Hawaii for our honeymoon.

Still have never watched it.

Yes I will watch. As a KC fan would like to see a 3 in a row. But if Philly wins it would be fun for Kellen Moore to give Dallas the finger for getting rid of him. Go Chiefs.
I bought a $100 square for my grand daughter hoping to win a good start for a college fund

I have never watched a halftime show and won’t start this year. I have no clue who is doing what ever they do

Feels like there were a lot more closer games for them this season. Games where 1 or 2 blown calls could be the absolute difference. They’re definitely a really good team, but goddamn, do they get the benefit of the doubt A LOT.

My God damn Falcons had em beat in prime time, but their DB’s are allowed to mug receivers and not get flagged
