It's Tulsa's 1st bowl game since winning the 2016 Miami Beach Bowl. Tulsa's 5-2 in their last 7 bowls & 10-11 overall.

Not that the G5 are getting into the current playoffs setup, but this game is a big game with regards to their perception of whether or not they should be in a 6-8 team playoff. If this same Tulsa team that nearly beat Cinci loses to a bad 3-7 Miss St team, thats an awful look for Cinci. Especially since they've been the top G5 team the last few years with regards to playoff talk.
It may not be fair, but that's just the reality of how the G5 will further be perceived.
