ATM's next 7 games ... can Dumbo survive?

Jimbo Fisher bails on ESPN production meeting.

While speaking with Paul Finebaum on Friday afternoon, Hart revealed that the $95 million man suddenly became unavailable. Fisher did not show up and did not give a reason why he could not meet with ESPN.

Hart said that he cannot remember a time where this happened in the past. Fisher is the first coach to ever leave him high-and-dry before a game.

To make things even more interesting, Hart reported that Jimmy Sexton is in Texas this weekend. Sexton, one of the most high-profile agents in sports, also represents Fisher.

“With Texas A&M owing Jimbo Fisher $86 million, there’s zero discussion in moving on from him, but there will be changes in staff, style and likely offensive play-calling moving forward at College Station,” Thamel said on College GameDay. “What will that look like? Could A&M modernize their offensive and use more tempo? I’ve been told everything is on the table at Texas A&M. One factor for A&M is that Jimbo Fisher’s offense is famously complicated. This has to be simplified in order to streamline young talents on the field.

ATM would have to run the table with Ls to lose 5. I think they win 1 of those games … still have @Auburn and then host a much improved LSU!
Let's update the thread:

I am a loss away from getting the 5 right for the next 7 I was referring to. Not sure I can pull for UF, but may have to.

Lettuce also not forget they still have @Aubun and LSU to close out the year. I am assuming they will beat UMass.

A&M gave up 390 rushing yards at home.

Yeah. Some thought the typical "4 loss season" would bite A&M in the ass this season. Now, 5 losses and a couple more losable games in the future. I mean, we are talking about being paid that much and possibly not making a bowl game. However, in the games already played, I can only find what should have been a definite win (App State, look at the A&M stats from that game... pfft). That would put them at 4 wins. I guess beat UMass and Florida or Auburn, and you have your 6 wins. But, damn...

A&M is home for 3 of the next 4. They get 3 bad teams in UMass, Florida, and Auburn. They easily win 2 games, 3 is not crazy

Not if the goal is to put players in the NFL. Colleges need to run pro style offenses in order for their players to get drafted. College system QBs like Patrick Mahomes can't make it in the NFL.

well at least they realized (Jimbo) that Weigman is the best QB they have.. despite being a true Fish

Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher are down bad, and one stat tells fans everything they need to know.

The Aggies lost this weekend to Ole Miss, and it’s the first time in 17 years Texas A&M has lost four straight games, according to Chris Hummer.

To make the situation even more embarrassing, Jimbo Fisher has four straight top 10 classes.

Looks like Mel Tucker was the better deal because at least they won today unlike A&M.

Dude no way they lose 5 of those. There have to be 3 wins there somewhere.

I will say if they lose to Miami then Jimbo will have an uphill battle to not lose the team but I just can't fathom 5 losses which would be 6 on the season and they still have Auburn and LSU to play.
Well I was dead wrong and Jimbo did lose the team.

Do you think he lost 'em on purpose?
I don't see any possible scenario where it benefits him to have lost the team on purpose. This is a coach that has won a national championship, actually has some type of legacy, and wants to coach for the next decade because he is a super competitive person so no his isn't on purpose. I don't buy the argument he just wants to get paid and be out of the game because that isn't his DNA.

I think Jimbo is falling victim to the same thing that got Malzahn and that is arrogance that his system works and he is very resistant to change. This has been one of Saban's greatest strengths that Alabama has evolved and that has kept them competitive but his problem now is the assistants he has as coordinators aren't innovative enough and he is struggling to get kids that are making six figures in NIL money focused on getting better and not thinking their shit doesn't stink.

Word on the street is that is a considerable amount of pressure on Jimbo to bring in an OC but he is pushing back hard on that. I'm going to be interested to see what happens because Malzahn brought in either clones or lackeys and nothing changed.
