B1G just missed chance for first National Title in a major sport played by the SEC in years

Couldn't pay me to watch women's basketball. Or Softball, Or Golf.
Homie, this is why you have that dog in you...

I'd say the 6 most popular sports in order would be:

CFB
CBB
Women's College Basketball
Baseball
Women's College Volleyball
Softball

B1G is the best women's volleyball conference but has struggled winning anything is all the other major sports. I will say in women's college basketball, they are on the upswing. Could have 4 teams next year with a legit shot to win it all. In CBB, MSU will most likely be a top 10 team next year, so they'd have a decent chance.

Top 5 in viewership are football, basketball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.

Nobody watches girls sports. Not even girls.

Women's college basketball viewership dwarfs baseball and men's soccer and lacrosse. Hell the WCWS outdrew the CWS last year.

Penn st and Illinois dominate men's gymnastics...so you got that going for you

And what has bugged me since the game is all the other Iowa fans blaming the refs for the outcome. Were they horrible? Yes, but LSU was better as well.

The whole classless taunting? It doesn't bother me as long as it is too another top star, the team as a whole, or the fanbase. Honestly, I was kind of hoping they would have gone back and forth all game.

Yeah, that was overblown and stupid. Great season by Iowa. They don't have anything to be ashamed of.

Yeah but SEC doesn't play hockey
That's not true. UGA has a hockey team. So does UTjr.

There isn't an SEC sponsored league for the sport. You can find an SEC school in nearly every sport but they are likely in other conferences or divisions.

I actually became a fan of the LSU coach yesterday, she is a character and knows how to take the pressure off her team.

9000 paid people to watch a college softball game last week. And the game was on Espn2. Is volleyball getting that kind of attendance?

College softball gets slightly better ratings(at least in terms of tournament ratings) than volleyball does, but there isn't any competition in late June. NBA finals are over at that point, and nothing else is going on except MLB. Volleyball(at least during the championship game) has to deal with an NFL game, which last year was Miami/Buffalo that had over 11 million viewers. They also go up against CBB. Last year it went up against UCLA/UK, which pulled in 2 million viewers. I think if volleyball was a spring sport, it would out rate softball just because there is less competition for ratings.
