B1G Media Deal

CBS contracted that with the SEC. So yes, they get a night game, but its on top of what they are airing at 3:30. But they don't put the kind of promotion into it that Fox does.
That’s why I’m wondering if fox will do the same. And I do agree, fox does go all out for noon but have one (big) night game a year wouldn’t harm that.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind noon games at all? I don't want to be sitting around all day waiting for my team to play.

I admit to not liking them in my younger years but now I don't mind them at all

Ohh hell no, I’ll venture most of the older folk and middle age folk on here love them. I don’t mind them, but when I think of big time matchups, I don’t think of most of them at noon. I know times are a changing.

I guess I have been conditioned for it already bc Michigan-Ohio State has almost always been played at noon for as long as I can remember

Based on everything we know thus far, that doesn't appear to be the case. Also, I don't think it makes sense for them because they wouldn't have a lead in game like the SEC has on CBS.

That’s exactly why I said i don’t think of most of them at noon, but I do confess when I Think of “The Game” or “the red river shootout“ I do think of noon time.

True they wouldn’t have a lead in game but if they are going to just stick with the noon slot, it’s going to limit them on basically no USC/UCLA home games and maybe even some away games. And when they pick teams playing at home in the Midwest that’ll be 11am.

That's definitely true, but I think they'd be okay with that, especially from a UCLA perspective. I doubt UCLA will be showcased in Big Noon even when they do play OSU/PSU/Mich/MSU on the road, unless Kelly gets it rolling a little better. I think the big pull to get USC/UCLA to the B1G was to be able to provide the league with primetime games in November, something the league doesn't do now. You get something like MSU at USC, PSU at UCLA, and then UCLA vs. USC the final 3 weeks of November, that's huge for inventory purposes and opens up a new primetime window for November. Honestly, given what we know about schedules, id guess this is how the last week lines up:

Big Noon: OSU vs. Michigan
CBS 3:30: Penn State vs. MSU
NBC 7:30: UCLA vs. USC

And 11:00 a.m. timeslots may suck for the fans, but it's second nature at this point and something the teams/fans have to be used to by now.

I hate them since my youngest plays soccer on Saturdays.. I prefer the primetime game so I can get whatever I need done, done. Like I said earlier.. UT has two big games this fall and both are 11am local time kicks.. Shit sucks

Definitely some good points. Would the same thing be true for OOC games? ex:ND plays at USC to end the season every other year, would that be part of the NBC broadcast?

I have a problem bc I can't get things done if I'm anticipating a big Ohio State game. I just am distracted. I'm much better at getting things done afterwards (especially if they lose bc then I'm pissed and trying to take my mind off of it)

My guess is that it would be, unless it's the CBS game. With it being at USC it would be B1G property. Therefore, CBS could choose it, if they wanted too. It would be a nice little feather in NBC's cap to get that game on NBC, when it's at USC because it's always been on ABC, at least for the most part. As an ND fan and viewer, it would most definitely be odd.

Have you ever considered being a Nebraska fan?

You might cure cancer.

Hell, he had to move from Columbus to Nashville because of the tOSU fans. I think he is really good for CFB, although the whole crying thing was a bit much.
He probably just took a look at his bank account and asked himself, "Why the fuck am I still living in Ohio???"

Noon is the second-best starting time with 3:30 being the best ... but I get up about 5:00 anyway so starting the smoker early is not a big deal.

caught the very end of some interview on Sirius XM.. they were talking about TV rights and whomever they were talking to said that there's talks of ESPN buying the remainder of the SEC rights from CBS...
