B1G to use "Flex Protect Plus" schedule in 2024 and 2025

Hate this. There’s now a potential that Michigan and Ohio state could play each other twice, head to the playoffs in a 12 team format and play again. Stupid.

While I can understand your point on one end, does beating a 4+ loss winner of 5 way tie for the west division insert team here really prove anything? You should Want and it should be the best two teams.

Count your chickens before they hatch much?

Be thankful you can get into the playoff with 1, 2, or maybe even 3 losses. At least there's opportunity for the ball to bounce your way.

No. I liked it better when the conference champion was decided by the record at the end of the year without he need for a championship game.

I’m not necessarily saying it will happen in 2024, but If this sticks for any serious length of time it will happen at some point. And it will suck. (The likelihood of playing any team multiple times goes way up). I’d the conferences two best teams play during the normal season, they’ll play again in the championship game and almost certainly be slotted into the playoff together. And probably every single year.

Those days are long gone unless money stops being coveted. Sooooo, those days are long gone.

Speaking of goofy ties and tie breakers.

Can't wait to see the goofy ass shit the B1G comes up with if like 2 teams who have no head to head tie for the 2nd spot in the B1G title game. Or there's some whacky 3 way tie. I'm sure it will be stupid.

If no head to head, It should just be whatever team is ranked highest in the CFP poll that follows the end of the regular season.

Nah then you end up with too many silly "ties" "co championships"
That's better than "silly" playing each other 3 times. After this year, the emotional equivalent of what happened in 2021 for Michigan will be gone forever in the series. Just simply gone. That game happens and Ohio State goes "well, guess we'll get them next week".
