That tie was to the legit champions that year, no matter what Chewy says.Army was also close. 8-0-1 in 1946
The only team to ever win a National Championship while on NCAA probation, and we did it back to back.1974-1975 Oklahoma
Mickey Mouse titleThat tie was to the legit champions that year, no matter what Chewy says.
You mis-spelled consensus.Mickey Mouse title
Y’all should be embarrassed for claiming itYou mis-spelled consensus.
It's not like they awarded it to themselves like the Oklahoma State 1945 NCY’all should be embarrassed for claiming it
Why? Undefeated and the only tie was to an Army team which had two Heisman winners on it and held them to 79 yards combined. That last stat, and the fact they were the underdog is probably why they were made champions that year over Army. That and pummeling the eventual Rose Bowl champs Illinois that year.Y’all should be embarrassed for claiming it
DamnWhy? Undefeated
You gotta read everything after the “and”Damn
Mark Oklahoma down for a few more then

i'm laughing pretty hard at the propping up of the 2004 Tennessee football team
they beat 9 loss Kentucky, 9 loss Vandy, 6 loss Alabama and 7 loss Ole Miss by a combined 18 points. They struggled with 7-5 Florida and beat 6-5 South Carolina by 14 points.
They beat a good Georgia team, but then turned around and lost to a 6-6 Notre Dame team.
Struggled with a bunch of mediocre, good win was cancelled out by a bad loss and got dominated by Auburn twice. Your 2004 Tennessee Volunteers!
Ties are losses for both teams in my eyes. Undefeated and untied like UGA was >>>Why? Less compaction in those other conferences. The B1G was just eating itself. What would you place the odds at for Georgia to go Back to Back ???
Doesn't happen all the time and is incredibly difficult to do.
I'll go with a 'gut feel' and say 10% chance.
List of past teams to do it.
1940-1941 Minnesota
1944-1945 Army
1946-1947 Notre Dame
1955-1956 Oklahoma
1964-1965 Alabama
1970-1971 Nebraska
1974-1975 Oklahoma
1978-1979 Alabama
1994-1995 Nebraska
2003-2004 USC
2011-2012 Alabama
2021- ??? Georgia
Seems really strange no B1G team is on this list.
Maybe I missed it.
But it either happens or it doesn’t. Two possible outcomes. It’s 50-50
yeah maybe you did
