Back-To-Back National Championships in the AP Era / Does Georgia make the list this year ??

LOL @ Bama fans thinking they can stop the best 3 headed monster at TE in CFB history. Bama will have the heart, just not the talent. Y’all ain’t winning shit with a midget QB

All the rest of y’all are Fucked. Sabans worst team since 2007 last year and still played for the Natty and it took UGAs best team ever and an all time defense to beat us.

Offense is Stacked. Defense is STACKED. and we actually have a kicker. Sorry y’all. Better luck in 2023

It’s scary thinking about Bryce Young able to have time and not run for his life every play. The OL had 1 good game last year and Bryce lit An All Time defense up when they did.
Your OL is weaker this year than last, and you have the worst WR room in a long time. Still really good, just not other-worldly like normal. I’m legitimately interested in seeing how that would out. Some of these high rated dudes better pan out.

You don’t have the depth on D you used to have. You have some really, really great players, but not the depth.

Atlanta will be fun.

Auburn skull fucks USC and OU in 2004.

Tennessee would have beat USC and would have a shot at the natty if not for the two losses we gave you.
i really enjoy homerific posts

ATF was annoying, but man, when it was time to enjoy homerific posts he always delivered

Not sure why so many people have an issue with USC getting the nod over LSU.

I only looked at cfb-reference, but their resumes are about the same imo. I’ll have to actually watch the games later.

LSU lost at home to (8-5) UF by 12. USC lost @ (8-6) Cal by 3.

LSU also had a few near-misses vs UGA and @ Ole Miss. USC cruised the rest of the season.

Yeah, LSU had to play an extra game (the CCG), while USC didn’t. But USC also never played an FCS game, while LSU played FCS Western IL. So, not sure how much merit the “extra game” argument has.

I’d probably give the edge to USC, tbh.

Yeah, probably not.

Auburn had a awfully favorable RS schedule compared to USC’s.

Cake OOC slate: two .500 G5’s, FCS game, all at home. Most of their conf. mates sucked. Only 3 good conf. opps, 2 of which were at home.

USC’s OOC: N vs VT (10-3), cupcake, @ BYU (5-6), ND (6-6).

USC’s conf. slate incl.’d: vs Cal (10-2), vs ASU (9-3), @ ORST (7-5), @ UCLA (9-3).

Edge, USC.

Tennessee would have beat USC

Yeah, probably not.

Struggle wins vs UF (7-5), @ Ole Miss (4-7), vs Bama (6-6), @ UK (2-9), vs Vandy (2-9).

Went 0-3 vs Auburn from 2003 to 2004. Auburn went 0-2 vs USC in basically the same timeframe. Lost at home to ND, who USC beat.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

AP title in the BCS era is laughable. But Oklahoma had no no business being in the NCG either.

USC barely beat Auburn at home in 2003. 2005 was a rebuilding year for Auburn as we lost our entire backfield included the QB.

That 2004 team’s offense was nearly unstoppable when they got rolling.

As for Tennessee if they hadn’t had to play Auburn they would’ve been a top 3 team but because we beat them twice they fell in the polls and it hurt our SOS. Not to mention that Oklahoma bought the Bowling Green game away from us so we had to play the Citadel as a last second add and freaking Bowling Green actually cracked the top 25 that year. OU buying that game actually put them ahead of us in the computer poll. We have a playoff today because of that season.

Didn't USC blank Auburn at Auburn in 2003?

i'm laughing pretty hard at the propping up of the 2004 Tennessee football team

they beat 9 loss Kentucky, 9 loss Vandy, 6 loss Alabama and 7 loss Ole Miss by a combined 18 points. They struggled with 7-5 Florida and beat 6-5 South Carolina by 14 points.

They beat a good Georgia team, but then turned around and lost to a 6-6 Notre Dame team.

Struggled with a bunch of mediocre, good win was cancelled out by a bad loss and got dominated by Auburn twice. Your 2004 Tennessee Volunteers!
