I need to take down my Christmas lights after work today...it takes all of 5 minutes to do for outside lights, but the tree and such are a bit more of a pain

Yep company sold a couple weeks ago. This is the first day of the new company. I was already told my current role would no longer be needed and they'd have to see what could be offered to me once the transition was completely done (should be July). If nothing was anything I wanted, then I'd get a severance. I'm not wanting to wait around for that bullshit. I can pretty much say they will offer me a shitty support position, of which I have no knowledge about this crap. I was here to do the financials not that crap.

Good morning good people. Another week and time to take down the tree and put it away for another year. Ah, the excitement of that.

My son and daughter are feeling better, but my other 2 grandchildren came down with the virus. I've gotta talk to the pharmacist about getting the shot.

Just got a notification that SLACK is down. I'm sure we'll all live.

Cowboys lost so that's the end of a terrible season. One injury did it, but that's football.

Thought for the day: I survived the great toilet paper scare of 2020.

FWIW, a friends wife has asthma, and she was in ICU for 10 days with Covid.

These guys were masks and gloves to my retirement party back in June....back when some of us we wearing gloves, maybe.

She got careless with a co-worker.

YMMV.
 
I'm still off today, but have to get on my computer and remind people of that or they'll keep bugging me all day.

I haven't touched this thing since Dec 18... that was a nice break.

That's what we did all day yesterday. Pain in the ass to do it the day before everyone goes back to work/school, but that's how it crumbled this year. I wanted to take it all down last week by my Jew wife said it looked too pretty and wanted to keep it.

Typically, we get our real tree and decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but this year, we were a week late - can't remember why. That makes that weekend pretty hectic because we have Thanksgiving prep (Wed), Thanksgiving, Christmas Tree Day (Fri) and then tOSU v UoM (Sat). We decided that next year we're going to have Christmas Tree Day the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and then pull it all down right after Christmas.

She's in an age range that has a mortality rate nearly ten times that of a 30-something. Still pretty low, though. I would expect an asthmatic to have a harder time than someone without, but my point is that having asthma and COVID is not a death sentence, and your friend's wife is proof of that at 50 years old.

30-39 mortality rate - 0.12%
50-64 mortality rate - 1.16%

Also worth mentioning that these mortality rates are from the beginning of this thing to now. We've gotten significantly better at treating this stuff and the rates are dropping pretty quickly. For example, I checked the rates mid-December and the 30-39 rate was 0.14%, so it has dropped nearly 14% in a little more than two weeks. That's significant.
 
I'm still waiting for a package I ordered on Dec 10 to be delivered. What a crock.

on hold with the post office now. Last update was Dec 22 and that the package will be delivered later than expected, in transit to next facility.
