Bonds and Clemens will eventually backdoor their way in.

Maybe some of those gatekeeping, unwritten rules Boomers will commit seppuku in the process.

We'll never see someone get on base at that clip again, and in the late 90's/early 00's, walks weren't seen as valuable as they are today.

What PED ban? Ortiz failed the same test as Bonds. Schilling never pissed dirty. It’s not a PED ban. It’s a likability test.

David Ortiz just got elected.

It's just a lifetime ban and I heard Pete isn't in the best of health, so his time will probably be served soon, though that didn't matter for Shoeless Joe

Last time I checked Roids don’t stand in the box for you and help you mentally recognize the pitch being thrown. Roids doesn’t make solid contact for you.
 
Just a reminder the BBWAA put in KKK members and segregationists (as they should've if good enough on field) and now won't put guys in because of some hurt feelings because "integrity".

Meh.

Rose violated a rule that he knew would get him kicked out of baseball. Was no secret that if you get caught betting on baseball, you get kicked out. Hell, it's most of the reason that MLB has a commissioner in the first place.

The steroid guys cheated, yes, but they weren't facing lifetime bans when they started. And there's guys like Whitey Ford and Gaylord Perry that cheated just as much in the Hall, and are celebrated for it. Selective outrage.

But steroids does take an already HOF talent in Bonds and elevates him to cheat code levels of power.

They unquestionably enhance performance. They won't make a guy who never would have played in the league a Hall of Famer, but they might elevate a borderline guy to the Hall.
 
The old fucks that get to vote are the reason baseball is dying.
