Bearcats Coaching Search

it won't be Tom Herman.. a reporter last night on his YouTube show said he and his wife hated their time in Ohio. They have a daughter who is a freshman or soon to be freshman at UT.. Had no idea that they still lived in Austin

It seems to be what all big name coaches have done. Too much other stuff to occupy their time.

Yep this day and age its near impossible to be a effective head coach and play caller at the same time. I get the feeling Day may never figure that out though.

seems to be working for Riley right now

Well Riley doesn't have to worry about the opposing teams playing any defense, so im sure it is easy for him. Might as well be coaching vs air against 95% of the PACs defenses.
wait and the BiG is THAT much better on defense?

In that same sense it's "working" for Day right now too. Ohio State is a great football team, but we want to have a chance to be the best, and for that, Day has to give up playcalling IMO.

Riley has shown me nothing different this season than any of his seasons at OU. Great offense, not great defense. It's his first year though so, given time, he might be able to turn that around

Dude 9 of 12 Pac 12 teams rank lower than 80th in Pass D, the highest is #37. Throwing in that conference is basically going up against Air.
i see it that they have better QBs than in the BiG

I get it this past game but last year's was the defense.. the title game vs Bama, was the defense.. The loss at home vs Oregon was on the offense as well last year?

I get it's a disappointment but demanding that he gets an OC so he can oversee the team better is quite the fix lol

Bo Nix and Michael Penix were mediocre QBs at best until they got to the Pac 12.

It's the defenses being awful more than the QBs being JUST THAT GREAT!
They both went to schools that had better skill players around them?

Not buying that going to Washington & Oregon makes these guys suddenly great.

The defenses they play against being unable to defend the pass. Yes though.
your new DC that was getting a lot of praise this season until last weekend.. benefitted from playing schools who had no QBs. Who was the best QB y'all played this season? Clifford? Tua? (and even Tua got at them for a bit)

Sorry man but it's different when you play teams that have good QB play week in, week out. SEC fans are seeing this as the QB play for that conference has picked up over the past few seasons too.

Penix in the Big 10 over 4 seasons- 29TD/15INT 59% completion

Goes to the Pac 12 and suddenly completes 66% and leads the nation in passing yardage.

Life becomes easier when you are in a playground of awful defenses. He threw for more yards in 1 year in the Pac 12 than he did his 4 seasons at Indiana COMBINED. But yes, Pac 12 Ds are only bad because "THE OFFENSE IS JUST THAT GOOD!" fuck outta here with that.

wait he can't improve? He was having a breakout season, then he got hurt.. This was his first real healthy season since his injury.. and sorry, Udub>Indiana

I guess a Texas fan would defend awful defense though, since they themselves are 87th in Pass D. I can only assume "its only because of the offenses in the Big 12!"

Uh huh.

Yes Washington is the beacon of Talent all around.

Maybe a bit better than Indiana, but not near elite.

It's also a move to keep Brian Hartline
