The Beatles didn't get much of a male audience at the beginning. Girls did love the Beatles but I doubt any boy wanted to be like them. You must have been a sissy.

The Beatles were before my time but my parents thought they were a good band. I've listened to their recordings but I liked the Stones much better. They had a harder edge to their music.

In hindsight, I agree. However, when the Beatles first broke in the US nobody had ever heard of the Rolling Stones.

The Stones didn't arrive in the United States until after the Beatles hit it big. The stones had a much larger male audience and a rougher looking image.
