Best Card Game growing up

Oh hell no. We never had one of those fancy doo-dads. We always called that game "Spoons". Put 3 spoons in the middle of the table and the one that didn't grab a spoon was the loser. Never took very long for the fight to break out.
 
As a kid, didn't care much for card games. Wasn't many to choose from. Hated the old standby game, Go Fish. And as a younger kid, about two or three times playing Old Maid, that was enuf. That game got old fast. Never played Uno. So, even as young kids, we played draw poker. Got up a little older, then it was Spades. Didn't care much for card games as a kid. Too much other stuff to do.

As a kid.... Crazy 8's, Old Maid, Kings Corner, Spades, we played a lot of them.
I think my fav was Kings Corner.

My dad liked to play poker, so he'd bust out the poker chips and round us kids up at the kitchen table.
5 and 7 Card Stud, or 5 Card Draw typically. Occasional Blackjack. Good times.

Been playing '31' one night a week at a local hole in the wall bar lately. Buy in is $15 a game. That's fun.
 
Wasn’t huge into board games but I played a wrestling RPG my whole childhood that was a lot of fun.

2 card guts.

Used to love taking my dad and his buddies money after they got drunk.

So simple, quarter ante, match the pot if you stay and lose, AA is the best possible hand, 2-3 is the worst possible hand. Those pots routinely got close to 500 dollars before the pot broke and the deal changed.

In between, or acey-deucey as sometimes called was another great game. You could win or lose a good chunk in a hurry
