Yeah... I got a Lionel train set when i was about 5 or 6. It was the "O" Gauge with the 3-rail tracks. When I was about 9, I got into the HO Gauge train sets and did more customizations with scenery and "aging" the trains themselves.
But never had a lot of space that I could do very much with it, so the interest waned. I still get the Model Railroader mags... just to see what they're up to, in this day and age.
I got a high quality pair of binoculars when I was 8. By FAR, the best gift I ever got. I still had them almost 20 years later but they were ruined by then.
Christmas 1974. My twin brother and I each got a XR 75. We were 9 years old. We kept those bikes for at least 5 years maybe even 6 before moving up to the 125 and eventually the 250 class.
But never have I had more fun, than on that little bike. Best Christmas ever!
My grandpa gave me my first gun when I was 6. Break action single shot 20 gauge. Don’t remember if it was Christmas or birthday though. Still have and use that gun
