Big 12 thread

It isn't even close

Tennessee/Vandy 78–33–5
Tennessee/Kentucky 53–14–3
Alabama/Vandy 59-19-4

Oklahoma/Oklahoma State 90–19–7
How do you lose to OSU 19 times? Hell, you haven’t beaten them even 20 in a row.
Nebraska has a better winning % and longer win streak against them.

Shit, how do you lose to Kansas 27 times.

Where are you getting your stats?

Tennessee vs. Kentucky is 77-20-8 (you still got us beat but not by that much)

Tennessee vs. Vandy is 78-29-4

Looks like these numbers are off too.

WTF
every number I'm pulling up is wrong.

Dunno.
Winsipedia is my go to.

Now if only it stopped counting around 2003

I know Tennessee has played Kentucky at least 119 times. The total number of times should not vary. I know that sometimes the actually W/L can vary due to poor records and whether we count forfeit games.

This is why I initially thought @outofyourmind's numbers were off on UK because the numbers seemed too low

Yeah we got 56 on Kentucky.

Has Oklahoma State been more competitive recently though?

Sad thing is, it has to be a mental issue for Kentucky kind of like Tennessee vs. Florida because we have beaten some very good Kentucky teams with bad Tennessee teams lately.

For example we won this past year and we were 7-6 while they were 10-3.

We also won in 2018 pretty soundly and we went 5-7 while Kentucky was 10-3.

Dang a lot of Big12 ones on here. (Or old Big12).

Oklahoma is 69-5-2 against Iowa State.

Not sure why the link isn't posted, it was a Beechers report top 20 most lopsided Rivalries.

Kentucky-Tennessee and Oklahoma-Oklahoma State made the list.

Alabama-Tennessee has gotten bad because we haven't beat them since pre-Saban (2006). Arkansas is in the same boat as well and plays Alabama every year. Miss State has an advantage over both by 1 year beating Saban in 2007.
Tennessee has been absolutely pummeled by the Alabama, Florida, and Georgia trio during our down period.

I am not sure if this is correct or not but despite our ineptitude against Saban's Alabama, we still believe Tennessee has the most overall wins against Alabama. I would have to double-check that number.

Edit: I am correct. Tennessee has 37 wins against Alabama and Auburn has 32 wins at second. You drop down in the 20s with any other team.

To show you how bad Tennessee has been, they have lost 15-straight to Alabama. Prior to Saban, the series record was 44-37-7. That is only 7 game difference.

Damn, I wish we could find our Saban lol.

(We also had winning series against Florida and Georgia prior to 2007 as well although Florida was trending in the wrong direction). Now the series are the following:

Florida leads 30-21(we have beaten Florida a grand total of once since 2007)

Georgia leads 26-22 (we have beaten Georgia only twice since 2007)

Gundy thinks Bedlam should be killed. So kill it, dude. Act like a big fish in a small pond.
Who does he think they are going to replace OU for an OOC game that is better? Home and home with Cal, Purdue or Syracuse?

Mike Gundy has changed over the past few years. And not for the better. He's become a grumpy old man at the tender age of 54. But if you really want to meet a headcase some day then go introduce yourself to his wife. Jesus. She and Jill Biden came from the same planet.

Gundy got a high number because he followed up the new Commish and his thoughts on poaching other schools

It wasn't that high of a number. It was higher than everyone else but 6.5 K is hardly considered viral. Hell he's at 9.3K now and Venables is over 10k because a few thousand ou fans have small penis syndrome (no knock on anyone here btw-I'm talking trailer park boys type motherfuckers) so small numbers. My point was Cumbie had under 800 when I posted this and the TCU faithful have brought it up to *checks notes* 2500 now.

That's probably in line with their home field crowd so awesome fan interest there.

This was from a UT $9.95er today (IT)

Realignment

USC and UCLA could be the domino that helps untether UT and OU from the Big 12. We‘ve heard OU does have the exit fee, but now we’re hearing the schools may get out without penalty due to the timing of contracts.

There is a very strong chance schools from the Pac 12 and Big 12 will merge. That doesn’t mean all schools will make the cut but that’s not really important for UT’s purposes. What is important is contract negotiations for the Pac are scheduled to start this year ahead of a 2024 expiration. Any merge with the Big 12 obviously could not include UT and OU as far as contracts go.

Stay tuned.
