Big 12 thread

OU is playing a 3 man front with Grinch's speed D players. Kansas won't be pretty easy as they can run it. Venables has been asked many times about going to a 4 man front but hes not going to change it. The system works(Alabama and Clemson run it well). He just needs to rewire the thinking from current players and get a lot more size in there. Where is coming looking at future classes.

Grinch def had preference which always puzzled me.. I know an old poster Romeo something agreed with me.. Couldn't understand his love for 280-290lb DTs..

OU is going to be wearing some fucked up special uniforms Saturday. Supposed to be all about unity and tied in with the Soul Mission stuff. How about focusing on winning games and giving the woke BS a rest OK? One of the best comments I ever heard was when I was standing in a line to collect my money from a bookie. Someone behind me said "This is Martin Luther King's dream. Half blacks and half whites all together and everyone's happy". We all had a good laugh.

None of 'em are head and shoulders above the others IMO. They'll have to get all the breaks at the right time to get through it unscathed. The OU meltdown is confusing people...again, IMO.

Tech is a good example. They beat Texas at home...though neither had their best QB playing. Okie Lite struggled last week with a Tech team playing their 3rd team QB.

TCU, Okie Lite, K-State may look good right now but Iowa State, Baylor and those types are still good enough to beat them if they go brain dead. Hell, Kansas, Tech and West Virginia are even capable of beating them. And we've seen Texas crap the bed so we know they are capable of it. OU's just got their dauber down so far they just need to try and screw someone else's season up.

I've guaranteed a 3 score loss this weekend for us but one team has a 4 year starter at QB, the best defensive line in the conference by far and aside from Texas (with their suspect defense) the best skill position talent. Team is 5-0 and hasn't been involved in a single score game this year. The knock on our defense is they got soft when the backpups were in during a game we were up 51-17.

No respect for a team that has not had a close game so far but keeps dropping in the polls because SEC or whatever

Props to you. No offense but they are Tech knockoff jerseys and for all my hate at the squats y'all are above this. I'm totally down with what they are representing but this is a dumb way to do it.

The over under on ISU @ Texas is 48.5 less than a week after we put 49 on OU on a neutral field. Hmmmm.

Make money.

Thanks. It won't go down well with the crowd. God forbid we start getting our tails kicked (again!) this week and it looks like Kansas is going to beat us. The crowd won't be in a good mood and it's inevitable there will be pockets of fans who are making their displeasure with the uniforms and the team's performance very obvious. I'll be the first to admit that OSU pulls off helmet/uniform combinations as well as anyone in the country. Some of those helmets are great. BV isn't being paid to create model citizens; he's being paid millions to win football games. Ask Gundy at 2 AM in the morning when he's sitting in front of a fireplace staring into the flames what's the priority at Oklahoma State and he would admit it's winning more than anything else. If the character development happens too that's great but it's not the #1 priority. Anyone wanting to see something interesting should tune in Saturday and pull for Kansas in the "upset".

I hope your cowpokes do run the table because they’ve knocked on the door several times. I just wasn’t impressed with the Baylor and Tech games. I’ve thought all along Baylor was getting too much love this year. They lost a LOT at DB and RB from last year. While Joey has Tech headed in the right direction, they don’t have the depth yet and the Texas game was more about the rusty cows with one of their underperformances than Tech’s play JMO.

I think you handle the horny toads this week. Their defense is missing that Paytterson influence. Sanders should have a good day.

I think K-State and Texas are the biggest hurdles for you guys..but you get the rusty cows at home.

But I could be all wet.

I assume ISU will have a quarterback the can complete a forward pass.
ISU is really struggling offensively, but the defense is stellar like a star.
The D only gave up 14 @ KU and 10 to K-State and ISU lost both games!
Looking forward to the "Donut Bowl" in a couple of weeks.

We were ensured tejas would be in the SEC in 2023 because tejas does what it wants to do.

Yeah, I am shocked they weren't going to buy out at least 2024. However, Big12 is treating them right with this move so definitely makes sense for them to finish it out. Sounds like they considered OU/Texas in model.

Too bad all these teams left Big12, Big12 is starting to do things right now. Perhaps Nebraska should go back :dhd: ...

It's a little late to close the barn door once the horses got out.

Nebraska (or any other Big 10/SEC school) is not going to take a 50% haircut by going back to the Big 12.

Yeah, it is kind of sad because the new Commish sounds a lot more confident than the old one.

Regarding Nebraska, that was a joke.

I read that Fox wants compensation from espn if Texas and OU leave early because of their loss of marquee games involving those two.

Not that ISU has a QB that can complete a forward pass...

offense is shitty
