Big 12 thread

2009 was the last time a team from Oklahoma was not in the Big 12 Championship game.
...and this is the first year Texas Tech EVER beat OU and Oklahoma State in the same year. Or at least that is what I heard on a Lubbock television station.

That is true. OU has pretty much owned Tech. Also the first time WV beat OU in Big 12 play ever. Lots of bad first this year.

OU and UT -
we lost to OkSt early when they were playin well,
and before the QB injury -

I wonder when the B12 will release schedules for next football season?

Looks like this is the final season for us to be here @Wishbone @Goldbug @ELTEXAN

I have another year to save up for 2 pair of season tix for the '24 season now #HookEm
Yeah everything is pointing toward 24. I'm down with that. I wish the Big 12 would release next years schedule, not sure what is taking so long. I've had OU season tickets going on 25 years next season.

they want to release them with attention.. so I'm guessing right before the CFP game TCU plays in? Looks like we are visiting UH and Cincy (yuck) from what the rumors have been saying. Y'all will be playing at UCF and I guess Provo?

OU is so not ready for the SEC I hesitate to cheer for just 1 more year in the Dysfunctional XII. But I'll take ass beatings by really good SEC teams before any more 3 point losses to pissants. Florida State will perform the coup de grace for this season. The next 2-3 years in Norman are going to be interesting.

No.. they won't do that because the remainder schools in TX want that home game before we jet

I think you mean 2023 would be the "final season" because this is the 2022 season.

Either way the article was written like shit and clickbait.

There have been ongoing discussions to find a way for Texas and OU to leave early without costing (the Big 12) any money,” an industry source said. “However, everyone has to be made whole.

The Big 12 has nothing to lose in TX/OU leaving early. The GOR is solid.

1) If they stay the Big 12 continues to use them for media rights payouts for two more years (2023/2024).
2) If they leave in 2024 then the Big 12 gets their entire SEC payout for that fiscal year. (that was not addressed in the article)

The TX/OU athletic departments basically take a $55 million minimum haircut for the 2024 season.
