lol they are now pushing back the schedule release for the '23 season til February.. it was supposed to be released sometime this month.
These schools are now bickering amongst themselves on who gets a home game vs UT or ou lol

They gave an increase for the new contract.. sure you could hold UT/ou til '25.. but with the addition of 4 schools incoming, it's gonna short up the pie for the next two years. Really doesn't affect UT since the conference doesn't touch the LHN deal or the new soonervision deal..If espn was somehow able to make it happen a year early, I would think there might be some teams not real thrilled about coming to Norman and Austin, and never getting a return game. Especially the new teams
lol deep take, pocket watcherExactly. Those are ratings games.
Any "agreement" to let TX/OU bolt to the SEC in 2024 will have a penalty attached of at least what the Big 12 teams would get ($42 million) had they stayed, and likely more.
Since the SEC got $54 million for the 2020/2021 fiscal year, the Big 12 would get at least $42 million of that and likely an additional 50% difference of the outstanding.
i.e. $42 million + $6 million.
$48 million from each TX/OU is worth letting them skedaddle a year early.

lol they aren't getting a share of their rights heading into the SEC bro.. stop it. Big12 the conference is fine with the buyout.. the one hurdle is FOX.. and that shit will get taken care ofEver kissed a bunny rabbit on the nose?

To think the Big 12 is gonna let it's two biggest media revenue producers (in TX/OU) skedaddle a year early without at least taking an equal Big 12 share of their SEC payouts is not thinking straight. The GOR literally says they can take it all.
The Big 12 doesn't have to do anything (win/win) but they might shave a few $million off their SEC shares just to move forward.
Any agreement is gonna be north of the 2020/2021 $42 million Big 12 payout though. I'd bet on it.

Early exit for Texas, Oklahoma to SEC could be aided by future nonconference games at Big 12 stadiums
The Longhorns and Sooners hope to join the SEC in 2024, a year before presently scheduledwww.cbssports.com

The Big12 is in the catbird seat here (assuming Texas and OU do want out that bad that soon) for sure. JMO but it would be a good move for all parties tbh. The new Big12 gets a chunk of money to start its new life post OU/Texas, also gets OU/Texas on the slates for their media deals in the future even WITH them being gone, SEC gets their targets with some extra time for negotiations."Ultimately, the Big 12 is the position to say either 'yay' or 'nay,'" said one person involved in the negotiations."
"I don't see it happening," an industry source said of an early departure."
"Sources differ in categorizing the likelihood of a deal with some believing it imminent while others consider a resolution improbable."
Watch tejas on any "agreement". They've always got two fingers crossed behind their back.
LOL they don't see it happening yet.. Mandel, Murphy all are saying talks are going and could be a few weeks from announcement.. meanwhile the Big12 pushed back the release of the conference schedule.."Ultimately, the Big 12 is the position to say either 'yay' or 'nay,'" said one person involved in the negotiations."

So in this article they want UT/ou to schedule future OOC games vs current Big12 schools. So Bedlam might stay alive for a couple years and UT can choose any of the TX schools to play (probably Tech).
I'm cool with that.
I laughed at the source saying that UT/ou didn't like the 4 new additions lol.. I know UT hates coog high.. first with the portable bleachers it installed inside their HS stadium that began falling apart. Then their whining about UT buying property in Houston to build a medical branch out there.. then wanting UT to schedule a home and home with them during the Herman buyout (which UT said no thanks, take the money)

yeah.. they just want clickbait cause nothing else is going on
they are delaying it because schools do not want to miss out on their schedule home games with them. New schools want a home games vs them as well. You're reading into things. That the Big 12 pushed the 2023 schedule release back is meaningless because the proposed early departure doesn't happen until the 2024 season.
The Big 12 is simply having to work a 14 game schedule as opposed to the regular 10 they've had.
In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised to see TX/OU getting the most difficult 2023 schedules out of the deal. LOL
Honestly I think the fans are ready for us to move on like we are.. ESPN brought their wallets to make the Big12 happy with the new deal. It's about appeasing FOX now..I love how these jilted schools claim on one hand they don't give a shit if OU/Texas leave because they are going to do GREAT without us and then they turn around and fight over the crumbs and who gets that last juicy home game against the Sooners or Longhorns. We might as well just leave ASAP and be finished with the whole thing.
I have no doubt our best home game this year is Texas Tech. The B12's always hated usHonestly I think the fans are ready for us to move on like we are.. ESPN brought their wallets to make the Big12 happy with the new deal. It's about appeasing FOX now..
But the schools know themselves how much money hosting us for a conference game is..
Damn @ralphiewvu wonder if they replace the Morgantown game for Orlando or Cincinnati ?![]()
