Big 12 thread

There's no state that is this deep full of teams. Yes UT and aggy should be at the top every year but what other Flagship school and their #2 in state school has this many teams?
California.

North Carolina.

My West Texas arithmetic ain't too swift, but I don't think either Cali or NC has 12 FBS teams. I'd say Florida or Ohio has the closest to 12.
North Carolina has more colleges than you can shake a stick at. They have 7 FBS schools but 14 Division 1 football programs.

You‘ve got a lot of yankee kids that want to go south for school but only gas money to get them to NC.

So what. This referred to Texas having 12 FBS schools! Don't know about Alabama arithmetic but 7 is 5 less than 12 here in West Texas.

If by "Division 1" you mean FCS, Texas has a shit pot full of those too.

I grew up in Alabama, and math is hard. Meanwhile, in my adopted home state of Iowa, we only have 2 FBS (Iowa State and Iowa) and 2 FCS (UNI and Drake) teams, and the Cyclones currently have scoreboard on the other three! That is some easy Iowa math: 2 + 2 = 4, and Iowa State currently owns the other 3!

He said the delay was not linked to Texas and OU.

“It has nothing to do with Texas and Oklahoma. They don’t control our scheduling process,” Yormark said. “We want to make sure it’s done in the most appropriate way.”

In the most appropriate way?? lol.. it's a fucking schedule release it like the rest.. UT has already been leaked

woah -
Tech n Texas not playin,
yet yall are playin all four newbies??
somewhat surprising -
maybe the thinking is future non-conf matchup?

Texas loses two transcendent recruiters in Gilbert and Marion.

you've been beating this drum since November lol.. He's staying through the Spring.. let's see if he's still here in June.. BTW Marion wasn't around his Freshman season here either

and Gilbert? Gilbert had connections through the DFW area... he didn't have anything to do with Xavier.. that was a Sark pull

OU hired Emmett Jones for wide receivers coach

Not sure if they made one final run at Kelly late last night or not

But it seems as though UT and OU were both after Jones. No opinion on his ability to coach receivers, but he'll be a dynamo recruiting the metroplex!

Texas Tech wide receivers coach Emmett Jones set to accept same position at Oklahoma
his name was mentioned but I'm not sure I would use the word after.. Have no idea who Sark gets.. rumors are from Colbert to Wiggins to the Baylor guy..Juice something..

Good thing is that Micah Hudson said that Marion was like the 3rd person he talked the most to at UT.. behind Sark and Choice

@Red_Alert

Though there was a belief that Texas and Oklahoma may have been attempting to exit the Big 12 one year early in 2024, sources told Dodd that Fox would likely have demanded a return to make its future programming whole, including a top-tier selection of games years into the future given the marquee programs would have left its airwaves early. That's beyond what would have been a potentially massive early exit fee the programs would have needed to pay the Big 12 directly.

It's not money... Fox wants it's content and having 4 new schools does nothing for them.

"Ultimately, the Big 12 is the position to say either 'yay' or 'nay,'"

Just cut that massive check to the Big 12 per the GOR already. That's all it entails. LOL

lol Big12 conference again is not getting in the way.. the real people with the GOR is ESPN and FOX.. ESPN is cool (by giving the conference a bigger chunk out of their own share compared to FOX)

again its just FOX.. you keep thinking it's money, when in reality FOX wants the content.. Big12 has no power here..

I just wish we could have been a peon school like Mizzu and we would have been out of here over a year ago.. But when you are a Big Daddy.. the exes want you for alimony for life

Big12 finally releasing the schedules later today..

Seen some leaks on ou's which i think that fanbase will be happy.. They avoid Tech, KSU and Baylor.. and their toughest rd game in conference appears to be in Provo.

I'd take that one in a heartbeat (those 3 schools beat them last season). Guess I'll just have to wait to see if it indeed matches the official schedule later.

Unbalanced schedules suck.
