It's a big adjustment coming from the average Texas high school into a highly competitive scholastic environment at an elite University where the student-athletes are required to spend so much time striving to excel in things like physics labs, higher math studies and doing charity work for the less advantaged.

Maybe I'm just getting leery of the whole sports world but from now on I'll be skeptical of anything we're getting told about these student/semi-pro athletes when they do something that appears not to be team focused. Probably some prima donna reason that will be spun as "unavoidable and he really wishes he could have made it". Oh well, as long as it's not a court date..................
I think we are all going to have to be leery. Keeping the locker room good has always been critical. It now be more critical than ever with the possibility of "goodies" being less equitable than ever.

There is an oh-so-remote chance that he didn't want to be a distraction and preferred teammates to get the chance to improve THEIR NIL potential. He needs no press tour for awards, those are coming and we all know it. He needs no more exposure, he will get plenty.
