Big 12 thread

I have no idea.. I would think UT would be favored if they continue to put over 40 pts a game on the board (only because of Sam being a SR). But it would be something like 3.5 pts.. Probably gets heavy action on ou.

I just want Texas to win, and I think they will
I kinda think UT will do it this year because I'm still not a believer in the OU defense. Spencer Rattler is going to be great but he's going to have those days when he looks mortal and Texas has a way of doing that to OU some years. My bet is the team that wins the regular season game this year would win a rematch in the CC game. When Herman was hired at Texas, I predicted on Hoopla several times he would struggle then have 1 super year that would look like an absolute moonshot before he falls in disgrace because of something he will get caught up in which will leave the Horns fans saying "WTF just happened?". So far I'm right.

Bro you can be completely right about that. Herman has done an amazing job turning around the roster since he arrived and for the first time we have an aggressive OC that has been given the reigns to do what he does....which is score either in one play or 10. He stays aggressive. They (TH) realized they can actually set up the run with passing.

Now it won't be as easy as it looked sat night, but the concepts have me gruntled into thinking this can work. Defense should be solid, they will give up points, but I'm confident the offense can put enough points on the board to win.

I know TOm loved his Rush Spread offense but this is the Big12, you have to keep you foot on the gas. Rushing and being physical can work, but with how opposing offenses work, they will get hot and that rush spread will get caught.. (2018 showed that vs osu/wv and 2nd half of ou in the RRS)

If the stars are ever going to line up again for Texas this is the year. OU with a true Freshman QB, OU thin at RB, OU still trying to identify receivers (plural) who can consistently catch the ball against a good defense, OU playing a lot of young guys, OU with the funkadelic D that has yet to scare anyone, etc. OU does have a very good O line and Lincoln Riley which means a lot of points should be scored. But here's UT with a proven senior QB and enough weapons to hang in there with anyone. I just don't see Oklahoma winning a close one this year against Texas. And whoever wins that first game is going to have a big advantage going into a rematch if there is one. Another factor is this is 2020 and anything can happen. Enjoy it if it happens because TH is going to get his teat in a wringer at some point and this being the Age of Sensitivity the UT administration won't stick its neck out for anyone. (The same could be said for just about any other school in the country.) Herman's an edgy dude and what he could have pulled in the not so distant past will be his Waterloo in today's environment. The hate-Texas crowd has been pretty quiet the past few years because what was there to really hate? But let the Horns have a great season and the haters will pull the knives out of the drawer again.

Bedenbaugh is the best coach in Norman. I want that guy out of there more than Riley and it isn’t close

OU's offensive lines have been good for sure. But this guy's eyes look like some of those hopped up quarter horses I used to watch run at Ruidoso Downs.

when you can't run.. all u can do is throw.. they did ok.. better than last season's opener vs LaTech. We'll see how they do vs Bowman a week from Saturday. Tech has some good WRs..well atleast that true freshman Fuonji
yep, and Zappe did a terrific job
agst the Tech secondary -
i hope the coaches can make some adjustments,
or the horns wont need to run the ball -

lookin forward to the game -
hope Tech can keep it close -

According to this, Arkie State won their game with starters out. They've postponed this week's game. "According to a news release, "[The reason] was not the volume of total players unavailable, but rather the inability to field a safe number of players among the depleted position group that required the game be rescheduled."

I'm wondering if this may be the norm. Combine injuries and COVID all at a certain position, and boom.

Oh, it's gonna happen to just about everyone at some point. The question will be if that team decides to forgo playing or not. Imagine, for example, OU after Rattler and Mordecai have been in the QB meetings with their head coach and suddenly everyone tests positive. Nobody's sick but they're positive. What happens? If we're playing Kansas we might take one of the DB's who was a good QB in high school and just let him hand the ball off all day but if we're playing someone with a pulse we might have to call off the game. EVERYONE is walking on egg shells right now. I want to see what happens when the players are all OK but the coaches all test positive. That's really going to be a hoot.

DAMN so not only did KSU lose, but they lost to a team that had NINE starters out due to COvid?!? OUCH

lol.. my tall fescue lawn laughs at that clover field

damn.. listening to Neal Brown on the Big 12 today show on SiriusXM... Don't like wva but he sounds like a really good guy
