And they will. It’s obvious we can all see that.

I’ll gladly take OU and Underachiever in the B12 the full freight or even one more year after this. But they’ll pay to get out after this school year(2022/2023) and then the Sugar likely claims the ”entity” changed and they are out.

I do give A fuck because it crushes my teams revenue and basically (or literally) makes my team a MAC team in a decade.

guess this means that when Texas does pay it's exit penalty, only the current schools will see that, not any of the new ones right?

New schools are also paying just to get in, I can't remember if the Big12 charged y'all or TCU for joining the conference a decade ago.

I'd like to tell yall to fuck off but at the end of the day it's going to be a financial decision. I'm guessing we take a break early after you leave but it makes sense for both programs to keep it as a home and home with the networks saying even money on revenue. Most of our fan base wants to either say we pull a Texas or only play home games but that isn't realistic. Your fan base wants to treat us like Tulsa and that isn't realistic either.

The game has too much value for both programs and TV dollar's drive the show so the series will continue.

I've said it countless times but I'll say it again: I wish Oklahoma State was joining the SEC with us and Texas. You could more than hold your own and it would be good for the SEC too. But..........

That "no two teams from the same state" SEC shit used to be strictly reserved for Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama.

While they've never been willing to break that rule for the likes of Florida State, Clemson, GT etc, they damn sure broke if for Texas. Guess Flordia, South Carolina and Georgia have more pull than A&M. :heh:

Things have changed.

1. When two teams from one state were put into the conference it was a regional conference. They were just trying to get enough members.

2. When the opposition to two teams from the same state started really heating up it came down to economics as adding the same school from the same state didn’t add to the bottom line. You needed to add states to the footprint. Plus recruiting became a huge advantage.

3. The economics have changed and everything is about ratings and not footprints. Texas and OU drive ratings in the Big 12 and give them an SEC schedule and it will be through the roof. It’s been a massive problem for the Big 12 that hasn’t been addressed. The magic number that gets networks’ attention is 3mm and other than OU vs Texas the Big 12 struggles to pull those numbers. In fact the only game in the top 12 this year was OU vs OUS which out drew the conference championship.

Basically right now if you aren’t in the SEC, Ohio State or Notre Dame you aren’t pulling big numbers. Oregon’s highest ratings were against Ohio State and Penn States biggest ratings were against Auburn. Networks want those games.

I thought the premium games the networks were wanting were the 4 million+ viewers? Wasn't that the number @Wizardhawk?

And why did you not include the PAC 12, ACC and the rest of the B1G in your comment? If the only ones "pulling big numbers" are "in the SEC, Ohio State or Notre Dame", then one would conclude that more than just the Big 12 have "a massive problem....that hasn't been addressed". No?

Yes

The PAC definitely has a massive problem.
The ACC is skating by with OOC and ND games.
The Big 10 is pulling decent numbers. Michigan v PSU and Michigan v UMS both did well as examples

Premium games are definitely 4mm plus.
Regular season games that hit 3mm and above are needed as well. To put it in perspective most bowl games don't hit 3mm views.

Bundle deal and price accordingly.

I will say this when the networks pay 1 billion a year just for Monday Night football the CBS/SEC deal that is about to expire was a freaking bargain of epic proportions. There is meat on the bone for the SEC and B1G and even the ACC as long as ND is part of the package but the PAC has to find a solution to their rating issue.

The Big 12 did not and it destroyed the league. There is only so much money programs like USC are going to leave on the table before finding a different solution. It would only take the Trojans to make a move and the PAC would be in big trouble.

jesus, what's going down in Morgantown @ralphiewvu ? He's heading into his 4th season, not his 1st or 2nd. Feels like a rebuild with this much turnover.. or is it just the new way in the transfer era?

Maybe that's the new strategy. I was looking at the 24/7 rankings yesterday. Mizzou has 9 tansfers listed with their '22 recruiting class. It has worked in basketball recently so maybe meshing a bunch of older guys from a bunch of different programs is the blueprint if you can't get the biggies. (But Mizzou did land a five star and six four stars which is pretty damn good IMO.)

TE was rated higher than the 2 going out (21 vs 60 and 34)
RB in rated much higher than outgoing (7 vs 66)
CB out going was ranked 15 position for his class the incoming was not ranked as a recruit.
no DE out going via transfer to compare to
