Here I thought this was about Ryan Day being fired by the B1G

100%. I've been to Tacoma/Seattle twice and loved it both times.

I've already told my pops to clear his schedule, Husky Stadium is a must!
You need to swing by and pick me up

Definitely the schedule, that’s pitiful. As far as your prediction though I’m pretty sure you aren’t going to have the benefit of a 6 year qb with a great pedigree so that should probably be taken into account.

Typical FCS, OK State was scheduled when OK state was coming off 10+win seasons ranked teams and bowls. Oregon State is the rivalry. Penn State and Indiana are CFP teams both will be coming off byes as will Minn and Iowa. 7 of 9 conference games are bowl teams. but ok pitiful.

I've contacted him thru Facebook. Been chatting him up for a few months about some guided fishing trips on a possible Alaska vacation sometime next year.

Does this really mean anything nowadays?

well if he said pitiful and it was the 6 teams that didnt make a bowl and so it was 3 of 9 did it would mean less.
overall though probably not.

Qualifying for a bowl game nowadays is almost equivalent to the everyone gets a trophy mentality.

But I am frequently informed by my kids and grandkids that I'm old "Get off my lawn" fuddy duddy.

In the sense that they get extra practices it does.

There's only so many Spring (15 days) and Fall (25 days) practices.
Going to a bowl allows for 3 to 4 weeks of extra practices (20 extra hours per week). It wouldn't matter for seniors or those declaring early for the draft, but it certainly helps with underclassmen returning the next season.

In theory a team that went to a bowl SHOULD be better next season than teams that didn't.

I always thought this extra practice rule was azzz backards. The teams that can't even make a bowl should be the ones that get the extra practice. They suck worse than the bowl teams!

@outofyourmind, @Wishbone, - you guys understand how Texas fucked y'all yet?

Oklahoma 2025 schedule - imo you guys will probably play 8 ranked teams. Y'all play 6 teams that finished in the top half of the conference.

Illinois St
Michigan - possibly ranked
@Temple
Kent St
Texas - likely ranked
@ Bama - likely ranked
Auburn - we'll see
LSU - likely ranked
Ole Miss - likely ranked
Mizzou - likely ranked
@ South Carolina - likely ranked
@ Tennessee - likely ranked
-----------------------------------------
Now look at Texas' 2025 schedule lol

@Ohio St - ranked (give credit on the tough noncon)
San Jose St
UTEP
Sam Houston
Oklahoma
@Florida - struggling program
@Georgia - ranked
@Kentucky - arguably the 2nd worst SEC team
@Miss St - probably the worst SEC team
Arkansas - struggling
Texas A&M - likely ranked
Vanderbilt - who knows

I mean, Texas plays 6 teams that finished in the bottom half of the conference. So... UGA, Ohio St, and A&M may be the only ranked teams Texas will play all year. They screwed you into coming, enticing you with money and recruiting grounds.... only for you to become the next Nebraska of the SEC.
Yup ... Texas has pictures of Sankey fucking a goat. It's the only explanation.

Keep in mind, we already knew this was the schedule ... we are just mirroring 2024, swapping home and away. 2026/2027 schedules will be the other teams they didn't play in these two years.

Texas will get Bama, LSU, Mizzou, USCjr, Tenn, Ole Miss, Auburn, presumably OU as their every year team.

Meanwhile, OU will get

UGA
UF
Vandy
MSU
Arky
Ky
ATM
Texas

I just know that Sankey will say they need to balance the schedule now, and instead of Texas getting their shit pushed in will get an easier schedule. Fucking cows.

Texas had nothing to do with it. They lined up the teams top to bottom over the last decade and the better teams got tougher conference schedules. Just how it went down. What I don’t like is keeping the same schedule 2 years in a row.
That's not remotely close to the way they did it. There is no rhyme or reason. UF, UGA, OU got screwed. Mizzou, Texas and others got an easy schedule.

The same schedule makes great sense ... you play the same teams, just H&A. I would have no problem if they did that every other year, but I kind of like the idea we go to OU one year, and you guys visit the next.
