Bob Stoops

I imagine Fox is paying more then OU is for Interm services too.

Let us not lose sight of that.

Respect for Bob.

Barry Alvarez (who was AD at the time) stepped in for the bowl when Gary Andersen quit and paid himself like 300K to do it. It wasn’t like the University wasn’t paying him a million a year as it was.

OU needs to find a coach and quickly, as their recruiting class for 2022 is falling apart and all the top guys seem to be following Lincoln Riley to USC. Another 5 star recruit left to go to USC - Raleek Brown.

Meh...we’re used to losing kids after they’ve been on campus.

But when you have had Wease, Hazelwood, Stogner hit the transfer portal, and it is sounding like Mims is going to go as well. For incoming or future recruits -- you've had four 5 star recruits de-commit and 3 other top 100 recruits. I don't care if you are Georgia, Bama or OSU -- THAT is going to really hurt

So @outofyourmind is like Venables out? Or does Joe not want him? Like why is this taking so long if this is the guy?

I also extend this question to @Goldbug too

The new plateau of $$ is new for everyone.
Just like right now in baseball… sportsbooks are opening up with every franchise, and the players Union doesn’t want to negotiate a lower tier contract with so much money on the horizon.
I’m telling you: because of nil, the landscape of cfb is going to radically change very soon, and all the powers will be able to negotiate for much more $$. Any new coach would be dumb to just sign for ~2018 money, when 2024 money is going to be at a different level.
This kind of thing takes all parties to get used to and therefore to negotiate.

I get what you mean but wouldn’t it be better money in most definitely a higher position at a blue blood for a coordinator in the ACC?

This really should be a no brainer for Veneables if he was indeed offered.

Sidenote, fucking Tony clark better not take his sweet fucking time negotiating and pushing back the start of the season.

For sure. I’m just saying that there’s going to be all sorts of new $$ very soon. No need to get locked into a contract at 1x for a decade when you can get 1.5x as a default soon.
OU is going by an old playbook. The playbook is being rewritten as we speak.

Fair point

There has to be something a little off about this dood. Why hasn't he taken an HC position after all this time.
I thought he was waiting for OU honestly. Now??? he may just be waiting to get paid mondo. Which hey, do what ya gotta
