Bookmark This: USC is gonna win the National Title

While Lincoln Riley’s team did score a bunch of points against UGA in 2017, UGA scored more against his defense and won the game, and UGA pretty well locked them down in the second half.

This year’s UGA defense is better than the 2017 version, and the offense is better too. Look at UGA’s offensive output in the biggest games of the season.

Anything can happen in a football game, but I’d predict something like 38-21 UGA if UGA and USC face off

This thread feels like a jinx. Please don't jinx USC with this shit. I feel like Georgia, Michigan and TCU could all lose now and still fill the playoff spot....but if USC loses that would allow OSU in the playoff. Do not want.

It’s a no lose situation for MI. Beating Ohio State again and getting Day fired would be historically epic.

Beating Bama would go a long way with recruiting.

I’ll take either one if USC loses but I don’t think they will.

I think y’all are playing TCU regardless unless UGA loses

I just don't personally want that kind of anxiety again this year lol. I think we could be playing in the national title game and it could be for a field goal to win it all, and I wouldn't be as anxious as I was for the first 3 quarters of the OSU game.

Not trying to offend any USC fans as they do have a great team and Caleb Williams is dynamic, but I'm curious what OP actually thinks the difference is between this USC team and Riley's Oklahoma teams that had a great offenses with dynamic QBs but couldn't get out of the first round

Agree. As insane and ballsy as it sounds, I can totally see the committee putting tOSU in - but against GA. Not MI.

It would be pretty well a guarantee. They put UGA at 3 last year to avoid a rematch in the first round

It would be off the charts. But just think of what a W would do for our program.

Delicious.

Plus, no way MI jumps GA to 1 and tOSU jumps TCU. Just can’t see any path to that happening.

So it’s GA vs 4 & MI vs TCU no matter what.

Unless UGA loses, but then it would likely be 1 Michigan vs 4 UGA

Surprise, surprise! USC jumps all the way into 4th place. Amazing how that works!

What happens next?

hahaha

tOSU plays and loses to number 3 Michigan, who is undefeated.
They fall 3 spots in the poll.

USC lost to the Uthes, who lost 3 games during the season.

The Uthes, btw...jumped 3 spots in the CFP poll after beating 1-11 Colorado!

Yep, they jump 3 spots for beating a team that won only one fucking game all season!

This year? Not much. You can really only completely overhaul one side of the ball in one off-season. The way the season has played out, USC is a year early. I figured we'd be competing for the cfp next season.

I like our offense against anyone, but our defense isn't cfp quality yet. They're good at causing turnovers and they're fast...but they're undersized. Not sure about TCU as I haven't seen a lot of them. But both Georgia and Michigan's o-lines are too big and too good. Both teams should be able to just limit our offenses touches by using the run to control the ball.

I don't think either of those teams would turn the ball over enough for USC to win.

Ultimately, these rankings are primarily about wins and losses. Only after that are things like WHO you lost to and HOW you lost considered. The teams with 2 losses are basically out unless there's no other option but to put one of them in. This is now basically a two team race to see who gets the final spot. USC wins and they get it, USC loses and OSU gets it.

I have seen Georgia after a loss ... I don't care to see that again. Georgia needs to win until they play Michigan. Michigan needs to not look past the Purdue Boilermakers aka Spoilermakers (a nickname earned).

I know Utah beat Southern Cal earlier this season. It was at Utah. We are talking a neutral field here. If Southern Cal loses this, and the teams win that are highly up there in the CFP, it is going to be:
1 Georgia.... 2 Michigan.... 3 TCU.... 4 Ohio State

I already know that. I know that you already know that. There is no other way about it. The thing is I don't want lightning to strike, not in a big way, not in any way. Michigan wins, and just say the Buckeyes beat Georgia. I don't want a rematch. It ain't about Michigan losing to the Buckeyes "this time" around. I just don't want a rematch. Southern Cal... y'all better win this championship game.

Don't understand why people think TCU is in the CFP even with a loss. Or even with a win for that matter. They've been dropped before from the #3 spot to #6 after a convincing win the last game of the season. The names Alabama and Ohio State carry A LOT more weight with the committee than the Horny Toads. Resumes do not matter. TCU has a better strength of record than Georgia or Michigan and they are still behind them in the CFP rankings. What makes anyone think TCU with a 12-1 resume and a better strength of record is a bigger draw than 11-1 Ohio State or 10-2 Alabama? They aren't. If they were, they'd have been to ones moving to the SEC instead of Texas and Oklahoma.

Maybe I made that too complicated for you.

Let's try this....

tOSU - 11-1 Only loss is to undefeated current number 2 in CFP, Michigan
USC - 11-1 Only loss is to 9-3 current number 7 in CFP, Utah

In the latest CFP poll USC is ahead of tOSU.

To make it "appear" as though logic was used, the Uthes moved up 3 spots in the poll after beating a team that has only won 1 game all season.

Now then....

Do you get it now?!?!?!?

Well?
