BOOOOOOOOO MLB

No. They play split squads to give more than just the starters playing time to try and develop.
sigh

I can tell this is going no where.

yea, the ASG is for fun, but the players should also want to go out there and perform and win. Yea, the win means nothing, but again, it's for the fans and the fans want to see the players perform.

that's fine.

they still play those to win, don't they?

I will say that I have been to an ASG and it was pretty boring. I think the festivities surrounding the whole thing is a lot more fun.
They’re more for reps and filling out the regular season roster, they’re not gonna bring in a closer not scheduled to pitch to hold a lead.

I don’t think I’d ever wanna go to one.

...you even said yourself that the ASG is mostly for fans to see their favorite players play. No one here said the players shouldn't perform. This started with you saying Snit fucked up because he wasn't playing lefty-righty matchups. Which no one gives a shit about in the ASG. People want to just see the players, which Snit was doing.

I was the one who said that, and confusing me with ill is a huge mistake for you to make. Don't do it again.

There were a thousand ways for Snitker to accomplish playing everyone without immediately pinch hitting lefty/left right after they got a 2 run lead.
And he obviously didn't care about playing everyone, Riley batted twice, Arenado didn't even play.

Pitchers try to get each batter out. Each batter tries to get a hit. This in essence is trying to win. Only to let a moron pick the wrong matchup when it isn't necessary.

LOL @ calling a World Series winning manager a moron over an ASG

I think it would be pretty cool to manage a team with the best players in the league at your disposal.

you'd think it would be hard to fuck it up...but somehow he did.

Riley batted twice, Arenado didn't even play.
Because Arenado wasn't playing in the game. Same as Rodon, Altuve, and Chisholm.

I think it's that we agree on this.

players are trying to succeed and that goes hand in hand with winning.

I mean we aren't talking Pete Rose bowling over a catcher type trying, but they are still going out there trying not to fuck it all up. They can do all that and still have fun though.

The manager should do the same.

When I came into the room last night while my friend's young son was watching I noticed the tears slowly rolling down his cheeks and asked him if they were happy or sad tears. He looked at me and blurted out "How can I l love this game when I tune in to watch my favourite hitters and they have to deal with these weak platoon split disadvantages? "

did you smack him in the mouth for saying "favourite"?

Do you actually think it is pronounced differently as well? :noidea:
I imagine there's an accent in there somewhere ;)

"say it right dammit! it's 'favorite' not 'favourite'!"

You don't have to imagine though, I bet you can find a clip of someone like Dan Shulman saying something like "colour" pretty easily. And I bet it doesn't sound like co-loor

It's a joke. Relax.

And in my head, it sounds like coloor when it is spelled that way.

Certainly wasn't offended or anything like that. To be honest when I responded I thought that you knew that the pronunciation was the same and just posted the joke too quickly and had a momentary brain fart on the whole reading vs. hearing aspect of it
