Bottom 3 NFL franchises of all time?

Maybe somebody else draws the line at 1960.

In which case, your team photos are like the McFly family. When Marty makes out with his mom.
not sure what the significance of 1960 has, but using 25 years really makes no sense to me to claim in History.
Super Bowl history is when they jumped to 26 teams & basically the way the NFL is now. The NFL was a different league before then. So I would get the difference before the pre Superbowl era & post Superbowl era, but to say history & just break up the superbowl era as "in history" I guess I just cant follow that logic.

if you only go back 25 years. Then you shouldnt use the words in NFL history.
To me when someone brings up history.
it is either in all of the NFL history. Which means they are talking of teams some of us have never even heard of. (all of the NFL's History)
& then there is Superbowl history.

Anything shorter than Superbowl history IMHO, then the word "in NFL History" shouldnt be used, but whatever time frame the individual actually means.
Oh yes, I agree with you. I’m a victim of my own communication skills. My mention initially was to what OP mentioned....don’t count the teams that have only been around <25 years (Panthers, Jags, Texans....I don’t include the Browns as they carry their full history)

From there forward I included the full history, even as I called it out that super old history (the Chargers only win in 1963 as example) matters and happened, but it is irrelevant at this point for generations of a fan base.

Trust me...as an Eagles fan I never found solace in the 1960 NFL Championship.

If this were simply a “worst teams by W-L that would be a simple factual discussion. I like this opinion question much more.

We need parameters, man

If you're taking all-time, then you can't include teams like the Browns and Lions. If you're taking Superbowl era, then yes, Cleveland and Detroit are #1 and 1A.

But if we're talking all time, then the Atlanta Falcons need to be in the conversation. Sure they've been to two Superbowls, but in one of them they lost to one of the losingest Superbowl teams ever in Denver, and in the other one they choked away the biggest halftime lead

The Steelers, pre-Super Bowl era, were the epitome of bad. Divide up history any way you want.
Couldn’t even field a team without combining forces with the Iggles.

Sad, sad, sad.

Just the worst 3 franchise of all time. Let's exclude the Jaguars/Panthers/Texans as they are relatively new and really in being none of those three have been all that bad.

My bottom three are...

1. Cardinals
2. Browns
3. Lions
You obviously never saw the early Bucks and Saints....They seriously were like watching a comedy show they were so bad....I won't dispute the cards though....

Jets, Cardinals ,Falcons. The Jets have never made the playoffs more than 2 consecutive seasons. That indicates that they have a long history of hiring bad coaches.

I’d put Atlanta up there. Finally people started mentioning them on page 3.

Since coming back to the league, the Brownies have been historically bad. THE poster franchise for mismanagement.

Finally though, there's light at the end of the tunnel. They seem to have finally gotten a competent HC and front office to go along with a talented roster. It only took 2 decades.

SB Era:
Jaguars, Browns, Lions

History wise:
Cardinals (not even close), Jaguars, Lions

Worst Teams Last 25 Years
1. Browns
2. Bengals
3. Jets

Worst Teams Super Bowl Era
1. Chargers
2. Jaguars
3. Buccaneers / Cardinals (tie)

Worst Teams All-Time (not just pre-SB Era)
1. Cardinals
2. Texans
3. Lions

Notes:
Jaguars are impressive to suck this much in 30 years of existence.
Falcons stay off the Worst-SB list by virtue of appearing in a couple of SBs.
Buccs a shameful record, but still isn't the worst by virtue of winning a SB.

The Lions only make the list when you include the 30 year span when they won 4 titles?

That’s weird.

46% winning percentage, zero SBs, haven't even won a conference since the SB era, owner of one of the two 0-16 seasons. There are a bunch of intangibles of course too, such as having an ugly dome stadium, getting a free home game every Thanksgiving for 85 years, Matt Millen, etc.

It’s a horrible franchise, no argument there.

Just odd the placement of where they suck the most.

Yeah, well you characterized my overall rating of them of the 3rd worst as "weird" because you misread and assumed it was based solely upon "the 30 year span when they won 4 titles". I pretty clearly said it was not just the pre-Super Bowl era. The losing percentage of the Lions goes back way further. The team was 0-11 in 1942, for example.
