Bowl Game opt outs.........

Rumor is that Thibodeaux will opt out, but we shall see.

Sounds about right. So many red flags around that kid. Lots of talent, little drive to play. God I hope the Cowboys stay the hell away from him or someone picks him before we have the chance.

For sure he will opt out. The only bowl games that mean anything right now are the Orange and Cotton. The rest are simply exhibition games to line the pocket of the school and sponsors.

It will become the norm for guaranteed 1st round picks to drop out of bowl games instead of risk injury before signing a multimillion dollar contract. Can't same I blame them though.

The Orange and Cotton Bowls are also merely exhibitions to line the pockets of the NCAA, teams and conferences.

They are playing for a chance to win a national championship. If you win any other bowl game, all you get is a nice job, your season is over.

He was fighting through injury most of the year. Could have opted out early instead of playing through it.

If you are a late-round/UFA prospect, you need every chance to impress.
And for them, it makes perfect sense to play. But if you’re someone whose draft stock is already high, why risk the injury. Particularly if you’re in a consolation bowl playing for an interim coach. You have tons to lose and little to gain.

Yes, really. Do you see any players getting paid to be there?

What the hell does getting paid have to do with anything?

Not all bowl games are exhibitions. The CFP games actually mean something. The normal bowl games don't.

What do they mean? They are exhibition games put on by the NCAA to determine the NCAA's champion. They pick the teams. No matter what happens, life goes on. It affects nobody except a few coaches with incentive contracts. 4 hours of escapism. Sounds like an exhibition to me.

Sounds like someone sour because his team sucks ass......again.

BTW, the NCAA doesn't have anything to do with the College Football Playoffs.

Whoever. And I have long ago put any importance on my team playing in those exhibition. They are no more important in my life than playing Army in October. 4 hours of escapism and I get on with my life.
