A co worker of mine bought a Mercedes suv about a year ago and kept her Honda CRV thinking she and her husband would give it to a grandkid. The grandkid fucked up and they changed their mind.

So she has driven it a few times to work and her retired husband has driven it a little but only a few thousand miles in last year and they wanna sell it.

First off you gotta know the type of person these people, especially her, are. Want to throat punch her because of her detail. Fuck that Mary just get the job done is something that comes to everyone's mind when she's around. Every detail of that car has been taken care of. On schedule maintenance out the ass. Repainted hood because of stone chips after a trip, Yada Yada.

2017 CRV, under 140k on the clock. Totally loaded AWD with a moon roof. Easily can get another 150k on the thing.

Now it's sitting in my drive. I know I got a good deal but sux to fork over the money. I paid 14k.

I bought it as a long timer for the kid as he is down the home stretch in college.

Last night on way home with it he told me his current vehicle's break light came on. I told him I would take care of it. He has a 2011 equinox with 200k.

Talk about timing. But I knew his car was not going to last the winter without putting money into it.

Nice.

I’m picking up a 2018 Audi SQ5 tomorrow. For the missus. $30k Canuckistanian. 85 K kilometres, 55 K miles.

Will sell my 2010 S4 locally.

The SQ5 will be a worthy stablemate for Panzerwagon.

Getting ready to buy daughter #2 a 2020 Jeep Wrangler (two door version). Having it shipped from Oklahoma this week for a test drive.

I told him I would take care of it.

Respectfully, this is a mistake. Tell him to take care of it and how to do it, and you'll pay for the service if necessary. Otherwise, he'll bring you future problems to solve for him.

I just bought my wife a new Honda CRV last year around Christmas time. She loves that brand so that's what we buy.

She's had Hondas and Toyotas and will only ever want a vehicle from those brand names. (She was stranded on the highway more than once in her Pontiac Gran Prix and one too many times that she will not consider a vehicle from the 3 major American auto makers anymore.)

I find the Hondas to be a bit loud, but they never stop. I've seen her put 250k+ miles on these vehicles (we usually keep them for 7 or 8 years if we can) and literally nothing ever goes wrong with them.

Maybe a brake job or replace the battery. But other than that, hell we don't even service it as you are supposed to....just keep changing oil when we remember to...sometimes late, but it does not seem to matter.

Hondas and Toyotas are engineered to last...whether by design or fault....they last a long time.

I took care of it by getting him a new(used) car
