Browns trade Amari Cooper to Buffalo

That's all they got???

Why didn't they just keep Diggs?

well, he signed a 4 year 96M deal. This is what Cooper's hit for the Bills is according to sportrac:

That said, my fantasy team is enjoying the news.

30 years old and contract expiring at the end of this season. A 3rd round pick isn't a bad haul at all, especially considering Cleveland gave up just a 5th round pick to acquire him 3 seasons ago.

The bigger question, obviously is whether this is a sign the browns are offloading and tanking or if Cooper is just one of the players they wanted to get out.

one of the player THEY wanted to get out or one of the players there that wanted to get out? I'd imagine good players would want to leave that sunken ship more than the team would want to give one of their best offensive players.

Seemed he wanted out from the first game of the season. Contract negotiations weren't going well for him and his effort/production has been really bad...granted, you could say the same for the whole offense but he looked particularly off.

he's looked good out there, not his fault Bob Kraft can't throw a football .

I'm not sure what games you've been watching.

Imagine if the Browns would have just picked up Sam Darnold for cheap instead of mortgaging their future on Watson.
Imagine if everything they've ever done they did differently. It's fucking ridiculous.

watched on Sunday. First drive would have been better than 3 and out if someone hit a wide open Cooper.

Pretty sure his numbers will go up significantly with Allen.

I'd think so. Not a high bar for this season.

Last 2 seasons, Amari was tremendous. And the Browns didn't have a good QB to throw to him aside from the few games Flacco came in last year.

This season he was on pace for the worst season of his career. He has 24 receptions and 9 drops, one of which just doinked off him and resulted in an interception. And that doesn't count the routes he's just given up on that resulted in what look like really bad pass attempts.

QB rating when targeted is a sad 64.2 this season compared to the last 2 seasons of 101.2 and 83.1.

Evidence seems to indicate he isn't trying out there and has wanted out since the preseason. He can still be great, so maybe the change of scenery jolts his motivation. Should help going to a contender from a dogshit team.

Watson doesn’t even seem to want to play football. I bet that guy does not have one close friend on the team.

Complete cancer.
