Bundesliga 2023/2024

And I agree 100% that Davies looks like a different player playing upfront on the left. Thing is it’s where he plays for Canada. He’s not playing in the backfield he’s leading the charge. He’s got the speed to do that and they should utilize it.

Agree. Never understood Bayern using Davies as a right back. Not a great defender. Speed has been his defense. Clearly he would be a much better option than Coman on the left...and generally he stays healthy.

Ok now that the debacle over, season grades and mostly they will suck. I think the worst result since 2002:

Kane A. 36 Bundesliga goals. Did not play in Pokal, so can't blame him for that. Injured in Madrid game.
Pavlovic A-. Should have played much more. Going forward most valuable midfielder. Period! #1 Passer.
Dier A-. No one expected he would be best center back. Owned a starting position deservidly.
De Ligt B+. Tuchel tried to run him out early on. Big mistake. Proved his worth in second half of season.
Tel B. Barely played at times but had some big late goals. Still raw, but did everything asked mostly.
Muller B-. Tailed off some late, but still when given minutes provided results.
Ulreich B-. Decent when Neuer hurt, but Bayern no longer acceptable with Neuer declining.
Kimmich Right back B+, midfield D. Needs to play right back for rest of career. Too slow for midfield.
Laimer C. Hardworker and played out of position at times but lacked expected offense.
Goretzka C. Got a raw deal at times where played, but midfield getting run over he was there for a lot of that.
Musiala C. For all his potential, expected way more. Greedy. Cannot keep dribbling through crowds. Bad habit.
Sane A initially, then an F. 5 months no goals? Ability to make decisions on the spot non existent.
Neuer C. Really tailing off now. Shot stopping declining late, and distribution starting to fail too.
Mazraoui C-. Injury prone and but ok defensively but not much going forward. Not what they signing for.
Kim D. Starting fine, but Asia Cup destroyed him. Mistake prone and slow at end.
Upamecano D-. Gaff after gaff in biggest games. Time to move on.
Davies D-. Easily gives up possession, prone to defensive errors, and lacks offense skills. Shell of 2020.
Gnabry D-. A trainwreck with injuries. Again no where near 2020 level.
Coman F. Still hasn't learned to cross and shoot after all these years. Perpetually in MASH unit.
Chopo F. It is time to retire....

Everyone else never played much. Boey and Sarr hurt but were going to be F's. Miss anyone?

Oh yeah....Tuchel D. Management an F!

Yep, there's a reason so many are turning down the job.

Nailed it! Roster terribly flawed by poor management in recent years. They gave absurd contracts to junk like Coman, Gnabry, Goretzka and Kimmich. Who will take those salaries????? Kimmich rumored to be going to Barca or City. Take him Pep, you'll find out quickly he ain't no De Bruyne or Rodri. Slower than snail. Sane? There is a reason Pep ran him out of City. Goretzka? I heard rumors he is a cancer if he doesn't start. Nagelsmann knows that too and left him off National Team. Coman? No one will take him with his brittle body. Even Davies, Real has seen enough where they say "no dice". Will take him in 2 seasons on a free. Right now Pavlovic is the only jewel on the roster. Led Bundesliga in passing accuracy at %93.1. Should start every game next season.

Coaches? I heard Flick back in and maybe Allegri. Must speak German and English though. No Frenchies allowed.

After next season, Muller and Neuer retire. Bayern signs Wirtz. Run out a Wirtz and Pavlovic midfield. Now you have something. Too bad Kane will be gone after next season. Bank on it! Kane will be back in EPL in 2025/2026.

If they think Tuchel didn't get along with management, wait until they see Jose...lol

They wanted Tuchel back but he wanted a new long term deal and a say in transfers. Never got his number #6. After that final game glad he rejected the offer. Bayern seriously far behind in transfer policy and knowledge compared to Bayer and Stuttgart at this point. Players on loan or sold recently like Stiller, Stanisic, Nubel are better than the ones on the current roster. Your loans and sales strengthened your direct competition this past year. Just dumb.

It is true. Hang up is Burnley exit fee. Maybe they think lightning can strike twice with a young coach like Alonso. I wonder what Kane thinks? The roster needs an overhaul first. Next season could be interesting one way or the other.

Odds were 10000 to 1 would be coach of Burnley getting relegated would be Bayern new coach. In reality, Thomas Müller is head coach and everyone else past and present is a figurehead lol.

Yeah, there’s some good coaches out there already. I’m sure given the right situation Komoany can be that too. I was just surprised.

And Leverkusen gets the domestic double. Just barely. Best season ever for them. You think the Cubs had to wait a long time for a Title, Leverkusen had to wait 120 years for their first German League Title.

Vincent Kompany has the Bayern job but if he fails out goes Eberl with him next season. Such is life at Bayern.

And I'm hearing Hansi Flick to Barca, haven't seen an official announcement but several places have said they've agreed.

It is done and dusted. Good luck with Mbappe coming to Real Madrid. Xavi wanted to unload Lewendowski. He got unloaded instead of Lewandowski. LA Galaxy has to wait another year for Lewandowski I guess. Barca a mess still. I heard today next season last for Pep at Man City. Would he go back to Barca? Not this version. Spanish National Team? It is a possibilty.

Relegation / promotion playoff super in Bundesliga. Leg 1: Dusseldorf 3 Bochum 0. Leg 2: Bochum 3 Dusseldorf 0. 6 round pks and Bochum remains in Top Flight. Hate to be Takashi Uchino. Missed penalty in Round 6 for Dusseldorf that sealed it. Ouch!! Looking at video, looked like he was on suicide watch afterwards.

Sounds like a true German. No 50/50.
