Cale Gundy the racist??

You just have to wonder how the rest of the team feels about the guy whose iPad is at the center of all this.
Imagine practice is going to be significantly more difficult for hum going forward

Seems like this was a BV call..

Seems like this was a BV call..
That makes sense, this felt all along like a firing waiting for an opportunity. BV gets to pretend he is going to be a hard ass like he's trying to sell as well as clean out the crap he didn't want.

What's weird is BV coached with Gundy at OU before. He knows him very well and knows what kind of person he is. Not convinced it came from higher up but regardless time to move on.

Cale Gundy was such a good recruiter it's hard to imagine Venables wanting to jettison the guy right when we're trying to beef up our talent level before moving into the SEC. I asked a couple of people who would typically know what's going on and they are as tight lipped as can be. But they wouldn't deny my theory that it went down something like this: Gundy catches a goof off in the meeting room, reads what is on the iPad, stupidly blurts out the N word a few times, nobody freaks, then a player later makes comments about the incident, there is some friction already between the coach and the complaining player OR there is some friction already between the iPad guy and the guy doing the bitching, it festers a few days, Venables is nervous as a June bride and decides to be The Man and comes down on Gundy like a ton of rocks, Gundy is pissed off at himself/contrite/loyal to the program, offers his resignation, Venables chews on it for awhile, the players realize this has been blown out of proportion.......but then Venables errors on the side of caution and cans the guy worried that a first year coach who is under the spotlight can't be seen as abiding any form of racism no matter how slight or unintended. It was a lose/lose situation. Keep him and people would have tried to use it against OU. Fire him and it makes Venables look skittish. Two years from now this would all have been handled differently.

Yeah, this was a whole thing Dabo went though a few years back. Coach says bad word in practice, the incident is handled internally and coach keeps his job. 3 years after, the public finds out the story and now there's a twitter mod after Dabo for not firing him. Wouldn't be surprise if this played apart in BV's decision but either way it's a lose-lose situation no matter how you handle it, welcome to head coaching BV

Now, Cat has fired back. In a now-deleted tweet, Cat alleged Venables forced “players to keep their mouths shut about what really happened,” and added that “the truth will always come to fruition, it’s only a matter of time.”

Has any current player in the WR come out in support of Gundy?

Not good judgement on Gundy's part in reading it aloud before the team, whether it was once or multiple times. Should've read it to himself quietly, then addressed the player mono y mono. He's been around long enough to know better. Most that played for him vouch for him, but the reality is in today's climate one is walking on egg shells. He'll wind up somewhere...maybe with his bro in Stoolwater. Maybe he'll get a HC at a non power 5 program or FCS. He's a very good recruiter and one just need look at all the talent he has put into the NFL through his career.

If I was that WR’s NIL sugar daddy I’d be pissed as hell. Nobody’s paying you to write rap lyrics, MC Hammer, you’re paid to score TD’s.
You don't know, maybe the rap lyrics were for a TikTok for the NIL sponsor

It's been 24 hours, why has more details about this not come out?

I once saw Cale Gundy in person...
