Now, at least some of that is rookie adjustment, and yes- he hasn't been over the top, going into the stands to sob on mommy's shoulder. But that's expected, not something to be celebrated.

The greater issue here is better exemplified in this article. The Bears, like the Browns and Jets, is plagued with a particular kind of organizational mismanagement, where it believes the salvation lies in a messiah-like QB, and that everything else will magically fall into place. Chicago, if it was anything close to a well-run organization, would've traded down in the draft, and fill needed positions. A couple of seasons with Trubisky or even Fields as QB could've been winning seasons and maybe with a playoff win or two. Instead, we all know what's going to happen in 2025: Chicago will take a WR like Tetairoa McMillan or Luther Burden in the first round to shore up Williams. Then in 2026, it will take another 1st round QB and/or fire the OC. It's predictable and tragic.
