Georgia offering the most at the moment. That's a lot of money to pay for Stetson's backup.

 
As much as I enjoy this, the site breaking this is as sketch as it gets. The local guy who likes to yell at the government on Facebook probably has better sources.
 
If true, this sucks for CFB, but is good for Williams.
 
Borderline tampering though as he has not ever portaled. I say it's still 50/50. I don't know where he can go to be in a better posistion than OU. A lot of teams already have established qb's. And he can thrive in Jeff Lebbys system. If its all about instant NIL money than OU probably isn't it for him. But if long term NFL money and high draft pic is what he wants then OU probably is and he can more than make up NIL money in the future. I won't be mad at him if he leaves unless he goes to USC. I think his dad is driving a lot of this.
 
I've been keeping my ear to the ground since someone else mentioned this a couple weeks ago. Haven't heard anything from anyone I trust enough.

I doubt he comes.

I know for a fact that Nakobe Dean had a bidding war for his commitment way before NIL.
 
Hopefully this is all BS.

Even if it's not, CFB teams shouldn't be able to just poach another teams players like that. NIL probably needs to be limited too.

tampering has been going on for years.. remember how Bob "bumped" into Baker on the streets? Hell the Hawaiin LB that just entered the portal, committed to UCLA without visiting any other places.

So many ways to get contact through back channelling, is it really Tampering?

I too was thinking GA would go after him but, they have Vandergrift and that Gunnar kid. Unless they believe neither of them can help them, no way they go after Caleb.

I'd watch for ND and Miami here.

For all the love ou twitter has been giving Lebby, who are the V&S QBs that have been drafted high or went on and have found real success at the NFL level? I can just think of one, RG3 who happened to be coached by the creator himself.
 
I'm gonna go ahead and predict Caleb Williams stays at Oklahoma.

Well Lebby has had a top 3 offense at 3 different places. And once Venables fixes the defense the offensive doesn't have to score 50 points every game like it did under Muleshoe.

I get that, but if hearing what Caleb's dad is all about.. they seem more keen on development for the next step, NFL. He certainly can comeback to ou since he has continuity there, but you think if he was on board, he would have announced it after the game the other night. Since he hasn't announced anything yet and seeing Margin Hooks tweet about MIMS.. I'm thinking they both are heading elsewhere
 
Players today are always looking for greener pastures.
 
So OU should offer 2.5 and end the tampering , nbd :noidea:

Sounds like commie talk to me, brah. There's already too much of a Big Brother deal in college football. The more freedom, the better.
 
The hard cold truth about Oklahoma is without solving the problems on defense OU could have a 5* QB every year and it won't make a damn bit of difference when it comes to winning a NC. OU sucks on defense. Yeah maybe Spencer Rattler turned into a head case and maybe Caleb Williams is going to be a greedhead and chase the money but those guys and other offensive players have moved on (or will move on) because OU doesn't play DEFENSE. WTF wants to play for a team that gives up points by the bushel? Caleb Williams damn sure wouldn't consider Georgia for its OC. He would do it for a quick buck and because he might be getting to play on a team that's far better than OU because of....................their ability to win games on both sides of the line of scrimmage. OU can't buy its way to success and we can't score enough points to get to where we want to be even with Tom Brady at QB. Brent Venables has to fix a lot of stuff. It won't be easy. But if winning a NC is truly what OU's all about then focusing all our energy on a handful of offensive guys isn't the solution. BV knows that. OU will have to reinvent itself from the ground up. I certainly hope Caleb Williams stays but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it because whether he stays or not, the whole team has to be totally different three years from now or we will be playing in the SEC and still stuck in Groundhog Day.
