Caleb Williams

They’ll be over .500. No idea who they will play because I think we will be going to pods.
Honestly they will be if for no other reason that their first few years they will have almost all G5/FCS OOC because of how far out schedules are set. Screwed A&M for a long time.

1. At no point in my post was Auburn mentioned.

2. At no point in my post was Georgia mentioned.

3. You’re smart enough to know this isn’t really about Williams and the state of NIL and transfers in general.

Un-bunch your panties.
Boxers were a little bunched ... thanks, cleared that up.

You were complaining about the current state of CFB where players are getting paid out in the open. Auburn has been really good at paying players in secret for decades. So cry me a river about the current state of CFB. If what teams like TAMU are doing with NIL is legal, then your fat cats better get the 501(c) setup and get to work. It's not like anything will change at Auburn ... pay 'em in secret, pay 'em legally.

Some would have left anyway. Just the normal "roster churn". And I agree with what that hairy dawg fan @WhosYourDawggy said. QBs are going to be more journeyman, carpetbaggers, etc. And not only the blue chips. Some 3* is going to a "lower level" school, develop out the kazoo and be "lured" by places with better limelight, more NIL money and/or the chance at the CFP.

"FWIW ... I saw an article the other day that said since 2010, 70% of blue chip QBs ended up playing at schools other than their first choice. QBs are going to shuffle every year from now on, especially when you get coaching changes."
That 70% number was when you had to sit a year to get a waiver. Hell, you don't have to do that any more. Dillon Gabriel just transferred from UCF > UCLA > OU in about 30 days.

I do think they will bring some structure to the transfers, but it's tough. The NC game is played on January 10, the day classes start at UGA. Any player who is going to transfer will have to do it on Tuesday. But, they will have to put together some transfer date ranges, etc.

I don't really mind the NIL, but I hate the early signing period.
I think it is going to go away after this year. What Kelley did was the last straw ... leaving a team that would have been in the 12 team CFP before the season was over. Have a feeling we will see them go back to a single NSD.

He’s going to cuddle up with snakepussy out in LaLaLand.

Bye bye buddy! Thanks for everything!

Get in early on undervalued prospects. Jordan Davis was a 3 star and is now likely a first round draft pick. That and start getting the big time recruits to pick them over the competition. And don’t rely on ancient history as a selling point when trying to convince a 17/18 year old to come play for you
There are diamonds in the rough but those are more exception than rule. If you have an entire roster of 3 star guys and 20% of them turn out like Jordan Davis you are still way behind the 8 ball as compared to those that miss on 20% of 4 and 5 star guys.

You have to be good at eying the talent. But at the same time, it’s better to just hire a good staff and be relentless in recruiting

Who is "they"? The NCAA is gone or at least neutered. From what I've heard, the schools/conferences are supposed to police things now. Good luck getting them to agree on something...and then that something has to pass the supremem court, congress and state legislature test.

And, you have to have something to recruit with. If all things are equal, no way Kansas State or Texas Tech has as much to offer as Oklahoma or Texas.

Hell, look at Baylor. They just had their first 12 win season EVER. And they are 33rd in recruiting rankings right now. Texas wasn't worth a shit this year and they are currently 5th in the recruiting rankings. And I'm sure Baylor tried to recruit several of those kids that are committed to Texas. Just couldn't get them.

Just don't see some EVER recruiting the same level of talent at some of these places compared to others. At least over the long haul.

I hope so. I love that USC got Lincoln Riley, but hate the way it happened. I get that he and other coaches felt they had to leave right away to try to save recruiting classes for their new school. That pressure isn't there without the ESD.

It helps to be in a state with a lot of talent, or at least be in close proximity and not be a small religious or nerd school. Kansas doesn’t even border a state with any kind of real talent. They’re gonna be forced to do some heavy scouting and develop

The NCAA is still alive. The SCOTUS opinion did not change that. That schools that control the NCAA have not changed that. Hell, they made a rule on the fake slide, 15 minutes after it happened, in the middle of a season. They appear to be neutered somewhat on NIL, but not by SCOTUS. All other functions are working, for good or bad.

Anyone who thinks that stars don't matter is an idiot for the math you present.

You're missing the entire point and fixated on what has gone on in the past and it doesn't apply. This is an entirely new world where there is a completely open market with corporate backing, no limits plus unlimited free agency. Do we really want to CFB to get to the point where a kid has a great season and then basically auctions himself on the transfer portal for the best monetary deal? I've got no issue with Texas paying their linemen 50K each because everyone can step up and match that. However, you get a QB that is making 200K in NIL and then thinks he can make 400K somewhere else so he takes your money and then signs up elsewhere, then we've gone completely off the rails. I'm not against NIL but it needs to be attached to some type of contractual commitment.

And since I ignored you the first time, get bent on the Auburn bullshit because you guys have been paying players as long as Auburn has and some of the bagmen have worked at both schools. You've got zero legs to stand on and we can point to George Pickens as exhibit A.

LMAO
Caleb Williams is soft. Sure pay that wannabe 1-2 million
