Caleb Williams

Yes you are missing the point because you seem not to be able to grasp that we aren't simply bringing into the light what was already happening and what is going on is on another planet.

Cam Newton doesn't even enter the equation because there was no transfer portal so it's apples to oranges.

As I've said I have no issue with NIL but there needs to be a contractual commitment to receiving the money. Chewy is joking when he said he wanted a QB to quit midseason and start from another team because that is absurd but how far are we from a kid quitting a team and sitting out because a rival has a NIL deal waiting for him next year.

How much in NIL money do you think Georgia could raise if Bryce Young would sit out the national championship game and transfer to UGA next year? That is an extreme case that wouldn't happen but that is the direction we are headed right now because this whole new system was very ill-conceived. Once again if the NFL had no salary cap and unlimited free agency it would irrevocably harm the league and that is exactly the type of situation they have started to create.

Keep NIL, keep the portal but lets put limits and rules in place to make sure this shit doesn't get out of hand and destabilizes the sport.

So 1 million over the top to hit the limit then the rest in bag money? Got it.

Lol I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but Pandora's box has been opened. We might just have to learn to love with what comes out

I've walked away from MLB and the NFL. Won't watch NASCAR every week either......maybe 2-3 races a year when I used to catch all of them. The NBA is a Never Watch with all their woke BS. I love sports but the mercenary BS just gets to be too much after awhile. The jury's out on CFB now. We had two parties over the holidays and there were numerous people who I talked to about this stuff. Most of them were OU fans but there were fans/donors from other schools too. Some small donors, some larger donors with no way to tell what anybody actually gives. But that's beside the point. The consensus seemed to be "Ask us for $ to keep the facilities upgraded, supplement operating budgets, etc. and we're in. Ask us for money to pay a player a fortune to come in and be a hired gun? Probably not". The players and their Stage Mother parents are gonna F this thing up (along with some short sighted alums) if they don't start putting some reasonable limits on the pay-for-play movement. NIL is fine; but what's starting to happen now will ruin the game for a lot of fans.

Why did you walk away from MLB? The least woke team in pro sports just won the World Series and was lead by a reliever that’s nicknamed Nutsack

Again the money thing isn't as big a concern for me as if they take the money then they should be under a contractual obligation. The money will even out eventually as it always does if it is attached to an obligation to stay put and we don't have unlimited free agency.

The free agency thing is the factor that will make the situation almost unbearable. For like the 4th time I will bring it up that if you did this in the NFL it would kill the league parity and people would lose interest.

I got turned off by a lot of the players. However, I did try to give MLB a second chance (maybe a dozen games last season) after not watching it for so long that I've got little interest in who actually wins or loses. I just like listening to baseball games on the radio because the experience takes me back in time to when I and my friends listened to games for hours during the seasons. (And the announcers are a LOT better than TV announcers.) I was also a good baseball player and I still throw 3 times a week to keep my arm in pretty good shape. I guess I'm getting ready for the day we're having to hunt rabbits with rocks to survive whatever these politicians eventually do to us. :)

Caleb wants to go somewhere with quarterback development. Well......

Lebby's resume.

2019 UCF 5th in total offense with true freshman QB
2020 Ole Miss. 8th in total offense. OU was 19th.
2021 Ole Miss 7th in Total Offense..... OU was 17th. ~avg 500 yds per game..... in the SEC.
What QB player has he touched that went high in the draft or has been successful in the NFL. Cause that's the reason why Caleb and his Dad hit the brakes once LR left who has a terrific record with QBs in the NFL.

In fact Lebby is a V&S disciple cause of daddy Briles, what QBs were successful getting drafted high and success at the NFL level? All I can think of his RG3, and he was all Art.

This is the reason why they are looking around, not just looking towards an offense that puts up numbers.

i don't know superman GIF

Then why didn't he immediately cut and run to follow Muleshoe to USC if it's that simple? Or is Caleb Williams not really that confident he's The Guy wherever he goes? Hmmmm. Maybe we're all missing something obvious: his Dad got greedy, used that as an excuse to look around but now that the quarterbacks have all moved around CFB like a pinball machine Oklahoma might be the best of what's available. He can win at OU, he's going to improve under Lebby and he's going to make himself look good if he stays. The only real downside is the immediate $$$.....which is where Daddy comes in again. If things don't turn out great after one more year at OU, then he can look around again and find that OC who Daddy thinks is the answer to his kid setting him up for the rest of his life.

CW is starting to look bad. Most teams have their qb. Im not sure he already tried to come back to OU and Venable said thanks but we have a guy. I know that sounds crazy but CW daddy didn't really do him any favors.

Sounds like his Dad might be a problem. If that is the case, USC doesnt need a Lavar Ball running around.

On Teddy and Gabe's podcast they detailed BMDs and former players putting an "incentive package" together ($1.2 mil+) and daddy said it wasn't enough.

So, Daddy has been offered more from someone else.

We won't be shilled in some bullshit proxy ebay auction, so we have moved on.

I don't blame Caleb, I think he's a great kid and has shitty folks giving him bad advice IMO.

Yet you had no issue getting into a proxy bullshit eBay auction for Kyler.

Too soon to call on Lebby regarding putting QB's into the NFL and them having success there. Same can be said about the overall success Lebby will have at Oklahoma.

If it were all about Riley putting QB's into the NFL then Caleb would already be on the USC roster..... Unless you're also saying Riley doesn't see Caleb getting USC to the next level and therefore hasn't offered a transfer in.
i.e. Riley knows he can find someone better recruiting the pool of talent he has in L.A.

I've said it time and time again that the pile of G5 HC's and P5 coordinator carcasses that made the jump to P5 HC's and failed miserably is deep.
Yet everybody jumps all over their nut sacks when thse guys make the jump to a big name school.

I could EASILY make the case that Lebby's success at UCF and Ole Miss was more a product of his hand being held by Huepel and Kiffin.
No different than Lanning's hand being held by Kirby and Muschamp.

These G5 HC's and P5 Coordinators are ALL a gamble at the next level. It doesn't much matter the level of players they get recruiting.
