Does Michigan avoid the letdown coming off their biggest win in how many years?

How do you keep anybody in that football complex heads out of the clouds this week?

I remember in 1978 when Tom Osborne and #4 Nebraska finally beat #1 Oklahoma to win the Big 8.
It was Osbornes first win over the Sooners since he'd taken over the reins from Bob Devaney in 1973.

The Huskers jumped to #2, then came out the next week and laid an egg at home against (8-4) Missouri.

To add to that the Orange Bowl committee selected Oklahoma to be Nebraska's opponent in the Orange Bowl for punishment. LOL

I lived that shit show too^^^ so I can see the connection to what Michigan just did.

They posed this question on sports talk here and first caller said exactly what I was thinking -- It is UM's first time going to CCG. It will be their first legit shot at getting to the CFP. I don't think there is anyway they have a let down in the game.

They will come into this game as fired up for it as they did the OSU game. Does it mean they will blow Iowa away? Not necessarily. Iowa has a stout defense and if they can come up with a scheme to limit our running attack -- it can bog down our offense. It isn't particularly easy to do, as UM is averaging 38 or 39 a game, but Iowa has a tough defense.

What makes Iowa go though is forcing turnovers. What Michigan rarely ever does is turn the ball over. So they aren't going to be able to rely on that in this game. McNamara only has 3 interceptions all year and I think we only have 1 fumble all year. Another crazy stat is -- McNamara has only been sacked 6 times all year.
 
They have an NC to play for and an asshole coach. Their heads won’t be in the clouds
 
I’m pulling for them. There’s been so many narratives in the sports world that have been laid to rest this year, Michigan winning the B1G and UGA winning a natty would be 2 more

Me too. Just for some new blood in the CFP.
Even though I think the Big 10 is overrated.
 
Iowa does have what it takes to upset the Angry Weasels in Indianapolis. I don't think it happens. I think the Maize & Blue fold up like a cheap lounge chair in the CFP semis.
