Can we stop pretending OU is good now?

I heard something on espn this morning they were talking about Texas sucking dick and OU having lost to Baylor and conflating them with other programs being down like Clemson and Flordia and how they're not like Ohio State or Georgia or Alabama in being consistent. I'm like excuse me wtf? Oklahoma is more consistent than Georgia and equal to Ohio state. I despise espn and their bias. Cocksuckers.

If OU's two losses were to the two teams they were tied with, only a damn moron would put them in the conference championship game instead of the two teams that beat them. Either take care of business or go home. Fuck Lincoln Riley, fuck the team and fuck the conference championship winning streak. It would be no one else's fault other than their own. Period.

In the eyes of ESPN, OU will immediately become better looking when they move to the SEC. (They already think Texas is purdy since they paid them a shitpot full of money for the LHN. But they'll get purdier when they move as well.)

Who is good this year? Georgia...maybe Cincinnati? I doubt that...

Let's face it...

There is not a lot of difference from teams ranked number 3 through 25.
I wonder if it’s because of the extra yr of eligibility for everybody. Levels the playing field a little

Yeah, ESPN says shit about Tennessee all of the time to. ESPN doesn't really have very good reporting from a factual perspective, they are just the kings of sound bites. They say stuff controversy to just get views.

Lee Corso went into Tuscaloosa 15 years ago and said they would never be like the Bama of Bear Bryant again to a rain of boos. Look at Alabama now :(.

Compared to OU teams of the past, OU is not good. Compared to an elite few teams this season, OU is not good. Yesterday, OU never got it going. The prior few weeks, seemed like the team was improving. A few games we were very lucky. A few games we made our own luck. OU is not a CFP team. We're one of the top 3 teams in the B12, and that's about it. With 2 losses, BU more or less needs to win out. If they don't bring their A game, either KSU or TTU could ruin their season. OU needs to win at least 1 of the last 2 to have a chance for the B12 CG. In watching this season, I'd say little brother is a better team this year. Great D and competent O. On average, about every 6th year or so, OSU takes one from us. Think they're about due.

In reply to the OP, yes, we can.

Something does feel a bit different, but history says they now run the table and win a 7th straight conference title.
Welcome thunder.

I didn’t know your vax loving ass came over here.

something was wrong with them all season.. Caleb saved them from two losses, but they still don't seem right. But I'm too busy trying to find whatever is right with my team.. and so far it's 1 thing they are elite at.. disappointment :(

But man.. Lincoln really made them look soft with his complaining at the end of the game.. Aranda got into his head with that last FG. Lincoln should have kept it PC and fucking yell in the lockeroom and tell the team to right this disrespect wrong.. Get to Dallas and put up 70 on them.. Instead he complains to the media smdh

Don’t believe in mandates but science is science
Neat, whatever I said over at the other place wasn’t going against science, It was the truth. But we can save that for another time.

Look forward to it, all I know is the truth.

So, some may not care or been privy to some of the chatter OU fans get. Riley has been out of it for a bit over a week. As is his custom, he is private, so not really sure what is going on. No, he didn't go to Baton Rouge. This has been confirmed by multiple sources. In a post game show, he stated he had "personal issues" he was dealing with. What that is, who knows. He looked like shit all week physically. We know he was absent from a few practices. This is not an attempt to either excuse the team or coaching performance yesterday. A winner overcomes.
Another fact that I haven't seen discussed much, is when the BU fans first rushed the field, 3 fans attacked OU LB Ugwoegbu. This has been confirmed by multiple sources. This is when Riley made the call for the team to leave the field. Player safety. Yes, the outcome of the game was already done. Riley talked to the officials about allowing time to run out. Baylor wanted the FG, which I fully understand. Teams should get all they can every game. If you're not up for it, then stay home. Of course, the 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty which was not called for the fan obstruction may have made that a bit more difficult to undoable for that kicker. We'll never know, as the refs failed to make the call. Baylor homers and OU haters will choose to go with the Riley is a baby story as it better fits their narrative. Once again, not making excuses for the performance, or lack thereof from OU. We sucked. Played with no energy or desire. Coaching was awful. Feel free to pile on. It's what we do.

It definately is.

Oklahoma State has a middle linebacker, Malcolm Rodriguez. Played as a true freshman and was a multi year starter. Low 3* guy who had offers from us and Wyoming. Normally the way this plays out, he has a solid career and maybe gets a camp invite. This extra year, you have a 23 year old former wrestler running the defense against 19 and 20 year old running backs. Dude is going to end up being a 2nd or 3rd team All American and early day 3 pick. There is a chance someone no one aside from my fan base knew about will get drafted higher than Hubbard because he is literally a man among boys this year.

The biggest benefit is on teams that recruit players who are solid but not elite and develop them. Normally at this point in the season injuries hurt depth and we have players who will be capable as RS sophomores and juniors but aren't ready to face elite prospects forced into action early, but the extra year really negated that. We have a DT, both of our starting linebackers, a starting CB, two starting offensive linemen, our starting RB, and our best WR all available this year due to the COVID year. None of them were 4*'s in high school and 5 of them took advantage of the transfer rule either this season or last. And I'd bet 4 of them (Malcom and 3 transfers) get drafted in May.

normally when people get "attacked" and a coach is complaining.. they must have got the worst of it? But maybe he didn't mean that, I mean he def was going through some shock that Aranda kicked that FG anyways
