I am uncertain how accurate these figures are ... the Phoenix Suns just sold for 4 Billion Dollars and the Texas Longhorns are only worth 156 Million Dollars. Something doesn't make sense.

I was unaware I could buy a college football team.

Not to mention the numbers are not the overall value of a program, but represent fiscal year 2019/2020 net revenue after expenditures.

Thats not value. That was revenue.

The Wall Street Journal recently released their valuation of cfb programs. OSU was over a billion.

I am aware you can’t buy a college team, but you would think they have a certain tangible value.

3rd largest football stadium and 2nd largest basketball arena in the Big Xii, and the Cyclones fill them both. Plus, the 2020 Big Xii Championship Game and Fiesta Bowl plus a Sweet 16 in MBB every 5 years or so probably had something to do with it. Oh, and the corn stands on the side of the roads leading to Ames! :)

wait .. u mean the season tix packages charged just $2 for the baylor game???!!!

You could go online and buy tickets for Texas/Baylor game the day of the game for $3. I believe it is ESPN who includes ticket prices available for games when you look at the schedule for the day. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw Texas had tickets for $3 for a game against another program from Texas. Only 1 other game had tickets even remotely near that -- it was like Eastern Michigan against Ball State or something crazy. They had tickets you could buy for $4.

so because there were tix for sale as low as $3 on espn or some tix site, it means Texas revenue isn't as big? I wish i jumped on those tickets since I was there, Black Friday, weather actually held up before the rain and cold front game in. Oh well.. UT should definitely fall down further the list.. probably behind ball st.

Everything is bigger in Texas, so I shouldn't be surprised that the bandwagon fan base is also bigger. If Bijan Robinson's final game at Texas against Baylor could net someone a whole $3 for a ticket -- I can't imagine how much a ticket against Kansas goes like? Do they pay fans to come to the game?

Yes they pay us to attend games.. Plus they give us vouchers for free drinks at the titos vodka tent outside
