CFP Qu & Semi sites/teams determination

I don’t mind UGA going to the Sugar instead of the Peach. The Falcons stadium gets a bit overused for UGA IMO

Already a possibility of three games there this season for UGA. Then play GT there next season, Sugar Bowl is fine

One thing about 2. that I do not understand. Boise State as the 3 seed and was able to choose the Fiesta due to their seed and kick Big XII Champion Arizona State to the Peach - even though the Fiesta is considered the Big XII's Traditional Bowl Home. So, since that happened, why couldn't Georgia choose the Peach instead of the Sugar as the 2 seed? If the answer is because the SEC's Traditional Home is the Sugar, then Boise shouldn't have been able to choose the Fiesta at the expense of the Big XII Champion while Georgia could not choose the Peach instead of the Sugar. Seems like the Tradiitonal Bowl tie-in should work coming and going. Of course, if Georgia went to the Peach and Arizona State went to the Fiesta, that would have left the Sugar for Boise State. I know what happened, happened. Just an oddity to me.
Fiesta Bowl hasnt been a Big XII tie in since 2013
the Big XII moved their "BCS" tie in to the Sugar and they tried to bill it as the "Champions bowl"

Doh! So right.

Already some CFP adjustments can be made to make things better:

1. Conference champs get auto bids
2. First round byes granted to top 4 teams based on final CFP rank (reseed after first round so the top ranks are granted the easier paths they earned)
3. All playoff games on campus up until the final. Home team qualifiers are conf champ first then CFP rank
4. CFP Final always held at the Rose Bowl

Its perfect

No reseeding

Fuck the rose bowl

Only thing I think they need to do after the 1st round is to reseed.
I like the top 4 conference champs getting a bye. Winning your conference should be rewarded.
If we did it this way the matchups would have been…
Oregon vs ASU
Georgia vs Boise state
Texas vs Ohio State
Penn state vs Notre Dame

Reseeding after the first round is way too big a burden on fans and soup port staff and even teams

I wouldn’t reseed, but otherwise I recommended the same thing elsewhere.

Nope. The Rose Bowl is the only bowl that matters. Its iconic. No cares about the Sugar Bowl or the Peach Bowl. Hell, the Cotton Bowl isn’t even played at the Cotton Bowl. The Rose Bowl should remain and the rest can fuck off or get non-playoff teams.

How so? Ncaa basketball has to find travel on short notice for rd 1.
Explain your vision for this. Or at least what you mean by “reseed”

In my scenario, the top four have byes.

- 5 faces 12 at 5’s home stadium
- 6 faces 11 at 6’s home stadium
- 7 faces 10 at 7’s home stadium
- 8 faces 9 at 8’s home stadium

Regardless of who wins those, they go on the road to face 1-4 for home games at their stadiums

- 1 faces the lowest ranked (highest number)winner of the games above, so if 12 beats 5 number 1 would face 12
- 2 faces the next-lowest ranked
- 3 faces the next
- 4 faces the highest ranked winner from round 1

Winners of that round go with highest-ranked facing lowest ranked at highest’s home. Other two face off at the higher-ranked’s home.

Winners go to the Rose Bowl and maybe some Zankou chicken afterward.

Yes, that all seems fine.

I dont care too much about reseed vs not, but i dont buy the logistics argument, especially if they are at home sites

8 teams. No byes. If you get left out, suck less.

Travelling party size for basketball is what? 20 or so? Very little gear to pack and bring along.

For football, it's 85 or more plus coaches, plus staff. Plus getting all of the gear involved in a football program to travel.

Nightmare.

Theyre going to have to travel anyway.

Ohio State already has travel plans for the Rose, Cotton and the Championship game. That was done as soon as the brackets became available because they knew where they would be if they advanced.

Should they make plans for every site just in case? It's a pretty compressed time frame.
