Bama transfer lighting up a cigar

... priceless.

Didn't know this was a tradition. Thought he was just doing a Joe Burrow style celebration.

Seth was amazing for Ohio State this year, but I do think it is cool when transfer players kind of pay homage to the schools that got them there

It's not exclusive to Alabama. Buckeyes did this back in the Tressell era as well.

Not sure if he's paying homage or trolling them . . . remember back in January he had a rough game and Bama fans were laughing at OSU for taking him in the portal.

Yeah, the victors of the Bama vs. UT games light up cigars, even those who never smoke, fans included. Stadiums are choked with cigar smoke after games. Even NFL players from the two schools often light up after the third Saturday in October.

A slap in the face to Tennessee (for beating UT) Alabama (for NOT beating UT and giving up on him) AND Ohio State (making it all about him on his new team)

Respect :yo:

So, when is this new playoff supposed to be an improvement over the last system?
As lousy as the games were last night, the new system already is. Not counting the regular season providing new twists and turns, the home fields for first round games provided a much better atmosphere than bowls IMHO. Wish they'd play the second rounds at Georgia, Oregon, Boise and Tempe.

It ain't the systems fault that those four teams decided they'd crap down their own legs. But hey, I saw the ones that won the first round games also crap down their legs this season. Some very recently.

Right, which is why some of us argued that going to 12 was way overblown and would produce a lot more garbage games. We couldn't even field 4 reliably every year and now we expect 12 to be competitive.
You and I disagree on this wiz. Yes, they turn into clunkers or as you say "garbage games". No doubt they were. My answer is so what. The entire season is filled with "garbage games" so let's start there. I watched Notre Dame (Nothern Illinois), Penn State (Ohio State), Texas (Georgia twice), and Ohio State (Michigan) throw in "garbage games". The first one listed was considered a "garbage game" before the kick off. NIU just turned it into a bullet we could shoot at Notre Dame the rest of the year.

And if we are truly concerned about garbage games, let's remove them from OOC schedules FIRST! There are many more there than there are in the playoffs.

I agree with what we have seen so far today and last night. But the game that is on now, isn't this 8 vs. 9? I mean shit, this is no different than the Penn State/SMU game.
If you take away the Christmas gifts Jennings gave the kitty kats, it is probably a worse game. Let's face it, all three were shit. Just different kinds of stink. Clem gave the appearance of less stink. But stink is still stink.

For my entire life during bowl season

Me- " well yeah the SEC played well. Pretty much every one of their bowl games is a home game played in weather that favors them"

SEC fans- " oh whatever dude. Where the game is and the weather have nothing to do with anything!! SEC is just the best!!"

Then finally, after 47 years, an SEC team comes to the Midwest in December

And proceeds to lose by a million points

And their best player has to quit in the first quarter because his muscles locked up because of the cold

Im shocked. TRULY SHOCKED.

" See Indiana lost by 10 at ND! That proves an SEC team should've been in!"

"See SMU got smoked by Penn State! That proves an SEC team should've been in!!"

Tennessee loses by 2 dozen points.

" ummmmmm. Well....... uh...."

Lol
Weather didn't have a damn thing to do with those performances. If SMU gives Penn State three gifts they'd lose just as bad if they'd of played it in the Holy Place, The Rose Bowl. I doubt the weather made a difference in any of the three games played up North. Indiana, SMU and Tennessee just decided to crap the bed. Plain and simple.

I understand but there is a history from Bear Bryant that started between UT and Bama.

Heck, even I remember cracking a joke with all the Bama transfers when it looked like we were going to miss out on Downs about all the talent leaving Bama and we were just going to get stuck with the center who can't snap the ball.

Really happy I was wrong (got Downs and Seth ended up being awesome)

Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly noted that Howard was so dialed in, the quarterback was calling out plays before Kelly could finish sending them in.

Now I understand why the play calling looked so good. The players took it over.

Ohio state wouldn’t have been in. I guess we’ll find out next round how much it matters.

Yep. Not to mention we got to see all the best players continue to play in 5-12 that we wouldnt normally see.

Like it was shown in the Playoffs LOL thread. Joel Klatt pointed out that this years first round margin of victory was only two points different between last year's NFL wild card round MOV
