Could do Both.

AP / Coaches could go back to the days when they crowned a National Champion prior to the Bowl Games for the Regular Season. AP and Coaches Regular Season National Champion = Oregon. Like a Supporter's Shield in Soccer.

Then, the Post Season Tourament Trophy would be a separate thing. CFP Tournament Champion = Notre Dame, Texas, Penn State or Ohio State.

Best of both worlds, as they truly are two different things.

They had Alabama ranked higher than Ari. St.
So Ari. St gets a first round bye and Alabama got to go pound sand.
